This is my attempt at a good deed today.
There is a very nice decorating blog and corresponding Facebook page I follow called The Vintage Farmhouse. A couple of days ago, the woman who writes the blog posted an image wishing her large and diverse readers “Happy Holidays.”
Believe it or not, this nice, seasonal well wish “offended” some nut jobs who feel that they are being persecuted if their religion/holiday/belief isn’t given preferential treatment to the exclusion of everyone else.
The blogger stuck to her guns in a polite way but a lot of people still flounced from her blog and page.
So, if you happen to like rustic farmhouse decor, or want some creative inspiration for a rustic wedding, check out and maybe like her Facebook page and subscribe to her blog. She doesn’t deserve to be punished for being inclusive.
For the record, I’m not affiliated with this page or blogger in any way and have never communicated with her and she has no idea I’m posting this. I just feel she got a raw deal and want to restore her faith in humanity by maybe sending some new fans her way.
I also celebrate Christmas but am not an insecure dink about it.
ETA: I’m such a doofus! I mistakenly called the blog and Facebook page by the wrong name and have now corrected – it’s the Vintage Farmhouse!
