Okay so I’m an artist and I need to start photographing my work again. My dad (who lives on the other side of the country) has a Nikon D5000. I previously would just use that, but now that I moved away I need to get something. I’m basically looking for something very inexpensive I can use while I save up for a DSLR camera. Because let’s face it, they’re amazing and worth the money. But DH is in law school and I’m an artist so money’s pretty tight. Like 300 bucks max. The cheaper the better. Any ideas? All I have is a cell phone camera at the moment and it’s not working out. Fuzziest pictures ever:

I love my panasonic lumix ZS-8, they have a newer ZS-20 now for 250. ZS-10, which is the older generation is only 200, and I’ve seen it for 150. Great little camera with 16x zoom and ‘manual’ controls… as manual as you can get for a little point and shoot.

Personally, this is my favorite small all-around camera. It’s light and versitle, with the option to accessorize later if you choose.
