This is what we started with. Not to much of a kitchen. We started remodeling the kitchen end of May.

This picture is from June. This past weekend, we just added the counter top and the sink and now have running water. It has taken a few months to do all the work. It took us a long time to pick out a countertop. I am glad the kitchen is done and we can move on to something else. I love how I have so much room now.

@QueenOfSerendip:  We got our new home on July 15th but didnt move in until Aug 10 because we did some major changes in the home. We painted the entire house and got pot lights put in on the main flor and basement. We changed the kitchen counter, sink and backsplash and painted it red as the colour before was a awful drap beige. Below is a picture of the kitchen before and after

We updated our powder room last year to gain some experience before tackling other bathrooms.  We repainted the walls, installed a new faucet and hardware, and changed the lights.  And it took just a weekend to accomplish!  The room is small so it’s hard to get good pictures:

We also expanded our outdoor patio a couple of months ago, which was a semi-DIY project.  We did all of the prep work and framing, and hired a professional to pour the concrete.  We’re getting ready to build a new fence around the backyard, which I’m really excited about.

This was our project a couple weekends ago! $500 of materials and that’s it. We already had the tools – table saw, chop saw, jig saw, air compressor, pinner. We just bought maple plywood and trim, stained and varnished it and then put it all together over 2 days.

Hmmm let’s see…

I Found this cute vinyl chair off of craigslist, spray painted it white with vinyl spray paint from autozone, and painted the legs black.

I painted the Master this pebble grey color…

Then I painted the Guest Room Charcoal Blue…

I white washed the fire place, and painted the mantel White…

Oh and since door knobs are so frickin’ expensive, I steel wool sanded and spray painted the knobs in my house a satin nickel color with Rustoleum spray paint…

They aren’t that glittery, I took the pick while they were still wet.

That’s just a few!
