Best beer in the world: http://beeradvocate.com/lists/top
The list is determined by user ratings. My husband and I were in Vermont this weekend to do a beer run, obviously, and so we have some Heady Topper. I had one last night because…my school is closing. =( We are a charter school, and the city school district denied our renewal, and the state appeals board denied our appeal yesterday. =(
But…how many of the best beers have you had?
I’ve had…Heady Topper, Pliny the Elder, Founders KBS, Firestone Walker Parabola, Russian River Supplication…Consecration and Tempation as well, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, Troegs Nugget Nectar, Oskar Blues Ten Fidy, Hill Farmstead Edward, Russian River Blind Pig IPA, Unibroue Fin du Monde…that’s all from the top 100. I know my husband has had pretty much all of them besides Pliny the Younger!!!

I’m sorry that your school is closing 🙁
But yay for Heady Topper! I grew up 20 minutes from Waterbury so we stop and get some when we go home to visit our parents.
I’ve also had many of the Hill Farmstead ones (Everett, Edward, Double Citra) and Lawson’s Finest Liquids (Double Sunshine) offerings and they are outstanding. Others I’ve tried are Sam Adams Utopias, Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Dogfish 90 Minute, Jack’s Abby Hoponius Union, Lagunitas Sucks, Green Flash IPA. I would love to get my hands on the Russian River IPAs to compare to Heady Topper.
Some of my personal favorites that didn’t make the list are Snake River Pako’s IPA, Peak Organic IPA, Pretty Things Meadowlark IPA, and Cambridge Brewing Company Great Pumpkin.
Can you tell I like IPAs?

@vermonster: If you want to try Russian River’s beers, take a trip to Philly! The guy who owns Monk’s apparently knows the guy at Russian River and helped them get a deal so they can sell in Philly. I don’t know how true that is, but they definitely have their beers!
Rock Art Brewery has a beer called the Vermonster, by the way!

@peachacid: Sorry to hear about your school!
I’m not a huge beer drinker, I like hard liquor, but when I do drink beer it’s usually pretty standard stuff like budweiser. BUT last weekend I had the ORIGINAL Oktoberfest beer (the recipe from like 1800 something) and I forget what it was called but it began with an “H” and sounded German (duh) lol
ETA: It was sooooo delicious

I’ve only had the Zombie Dust (#6) and Gumball Head (#247) shoutout to indiana! and only because my friends made me try it! Then again, I’m a Miller Lite kinda girl.
