My mom got one for Christmas. She has these and really likes them.
Smart Cover (comes in a ton of different colors): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B+-+Smart+Cover+for+Apple%26%23174%3B+iPad%26%23174%3B+2+-+Pink/4020241.p?id=1218450049141&skuId=4020241&st=i%20pad%20smart%20cover,%20pink&cp=1&lp=1
Clear Snap Sheild to protect the back from scratches and such: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Belkin+-+Snap+Shield+for+Apple%26%23174%3B+iPad%26%23174%3B+2+-+Clear/2538172.p?id=1218334193795&skuId=2538172&st=i%20pad%20case,%20clear&cp=1&lp=9

I was looking at the smart cover but I wasn't sure if there was a better one out there. Or what makes for a good stand. I think I'd like the ability to stand it up portrait way as well as landscape since I can imagine I'll be using it for reading recipes in the kitchen a lot.
I have the smart cover and don't feel like i really need anything else. I think a stylus would be a waste.
I was going to suggest the smart cover too. However, I wouldnt use it without some kind of protection for the back so after buying the back piece, the case would be pretty pricey. I've been using a pink leather case that I got from Amazon for like $9. I was skepticle at first but it's actually been fantasic. The case stands in 2 different positions and has a magnetic closure.
I cant find the iPad2 case but this is the same one for the first gen...
I also love my smart cover, though there are other cases that make a better stand. I agree with something to protect the back but I just have a carrying case to store it in when not in use. One of my coworkers has a keyboard which is great if you use it for typing a lot, which I don't.
@MrsJO: This is the one I linked to on Amazon, the tilt is adjustable (it's determined by where those buttons are on the cover). I've been going back and forth about the keyboard issue although I certainly don't have to buy one now! I like that it looks like a folio so I can pop it in my purse and it'll be protected and still look pretty.

ETA - It's a smart cover too.
I have the Belkin slim folio, and I loooooove it! I've had it since about September, and it's still in good shape so I'm quite happy with the durability. It is convenient as a stand in so many positions, and I love that it's protected from all sides (unlike the native apple cover). FI has the apple cover for his iPad, and it certainly is quite sexy, but I don't feel that it's worth the price tag, especially since you either have to buy another backing for it or risk scratching the back. Here's the link to what I have: http://www.padgadget.com/2011/05/12/belkin-slim-folio-stand-case-for-ipad-2-accessory-review/

I bit the bullet and bought one, hooray! Now I'm in the midst of trying to figure out what the base case is, and what accessories I need. For instance, do I need a blue tooth keyboard, or can I live without it? What about a stylus?
This is my favourite case so far. I'd love to know what you all have! Thanks!
