Hey bees! I'm in the process of buying bigger bras, and I'm having some trouble finding good ones :-( I went to Macy's and was fitted as a 34C. I'm definitely not used to being this big - I went from a 34A to C this year, so this is new!

What bra brands are the best? What types of bras are good for a 34C? What stores do you shop at for buying bras?

Any and all advice is appreciated!

I love Victoria Secret's push-up Demi (I wear a 36D). It is comfortable, sexy and comes in a variety of colors in case you are feeling a bit sassy.

@Treejewel19: I've never bought a bra from VS, but now that I'm bigger, I just might try them. Thanks!

I was a 34C before I got pregnant. My favorite everyday bra then was the DreamAngels pushup from VS, followed closely by the Body by Victoria pushup, also from VS. They are both SO comfortable.

Now that I'm pregnant, I've moved away from any padding and I've been wearing the "Showstopper" from VS. Awesome bra.

Every bra I have owned for the past 4 years has been from there. I worked there, so I got a good discount. I got very attached to a few styles. I can also tell you a few to stay away from, if you'd like.

the best bra I have ever worn is a cheapie push-up by Vassarette.  I cant remember if its gel/air filled but it is so comfortable and the best bra ever. I have bough  bras from victoria secrets, wonderbra, calvin klein and La Senza and none of them are as good a fit as the two I bought from walmart by Vassarette.

@zippylef: Yes, the DreamAngels bras are awesome! I wish I could still fit into them, VS doesn't make a 36F. :(

@zippylef: Yes, please tell me which ones to stay away from! lol VS has been out of my price range, but now that I finally have a good job, I can afford it. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a bad bra. I'd appreciate it!

@bells: You found good bras at wal-mart?! I will be looking into that this weekend..thanks!

@sunshine_kar: Yup, I just need everyday bras to wear with work blouses and t-shirts. I need to go lingerie shopping too, but that can wait for another day lol. I will try out wal-mart this weekend. I usually find bras at Marshall's, but they haven't been good to me lately :-(

I also have a few push-ups from Walmart. Only like $11 and they are some of the best bras I've ever worn.

@zippylef: My sister is a 32DD and wears VS bras, so I'm sure you can get 34DD. You probably have to order them though, I was rarely able to find 36DD's in the store.

@misssydneyj: Really, spending a little more has always been worth it to me. I'm picky about bras.

Don't buy the Incredible line. They are really good bras, but they stretch out really quickly. I got a free one for working there when they came out and I think I wore it 4 times before the straps stretched too far out. Any of the pushups with the little slots in the back band have issue with the slots ripping out, mostly the Miraculous pushup. I am not a fan of the Very Sexy pushups, but that is more of a personal choice. I feel like the wires dig really badly and the gel padding is heavy. The Biofits bras are good if you get one with fully-adjustable straps, if they don't have the full-adjustment then you will have problems with the straps falling off your shoulders.

I recommend: DreamAngels (my favorite by far, I wore them as my everyday bra for 3 years until I got pregnant. They are comfy, give good cleavage and are pretty and lacy.), Body by Victoria (very soft and comfy. Material feels good against your skin), Biofit demi (like I said, just make sure it has the fully adjustable straps). I also liked the Goegeous bra, but it's VERY low-cut, so not the best for everyday.

@zippylef: Thanks! Does VS have any bras without underwires? I hate those things.

@Aure: I meant that particular bra doesn't. I'm staying away from pushups at the moment because my pregnant boobs are a bit unruly. lol

@misssydneyj: Yeah, they do 2 different styles. Honestly though, a bra that is well-made and fits you properly is not going to have painful wires. I for real don't trust Wal-Mart bras because their sizing is all over the palce and every cheap bra I've ever bought has fallen apart. I take really good care of my bras too. Maybe Ive just had bad luck with cheap bras.

My suggestion is go to Nordstrom and get fitted- they are awesome and will find you the perfect fit. Find out what bras they recommend then high tail it over to TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They have the same thing for a fraction of the cost. I got 6 bras for the less than the price of 1 at Nordstrom and they were the same thing, as in the EXACT same bras.

@misssydneyj: Try this one... It's my favourite bra ever! Or was... It does have an underwire, but seriously go try it on!

(PS zippylef you should try it too!)

I always liked the Biofit bras back when I could fit into VS bras.  Now I buy all of my bras at Nordstroms.

I can't fit into VS bras - their sizing is whack.  I shop at the Maidenform outlet.

I LOVE the sexy tee bra from VS. I don't usually get a good fit there, but this bra is amazing. Super comfortable, sorta sexy, and only $32! I wear a 34D, btw

Since I didn't see them mentioned - I'm cheap and have gotten almost all my bras at JC Penney's - Ambrielle and Maidenform are my favorites. DH loves the couple push-up ones I have (lol) and one of the brands makes a 't-shirt- one that is so comfortable.

If you have a bit extra to spend, I recommend Wacol or Chantalle, both at some Macy's, Nordstrom and specialty stores. VS bras just never fit me right with the straps always falling, the wires coming out after a while that I just gave up on those and spend just as much or a little more for the other brands. They feel great on you and are very pretty. I also think that these cater to a larger cup. I'm a 36C, but I know they go much higher.

I'm not sure what stores you have in your mall but I love my Aerie bras!  I get the pushup kind but it sounds like you probably don't need that :).  I think they are usually a little bit less expensive than VS too.

I personally can't stand to wear VS bras, but thats just my opinion.  I buy most of my bra's from JC Penney's or any other department store, and I get sized every time I go in to make sure I buy the right size. If you do buy VS, I would recommend actually going to their store so you can try them on and make sure they're comfortable to you.  (VS will also size you if you ask)

ETA: Oh, and I should add I can't buy bras at Target anymore (or WalMart for that matter); I'm a 32D and it's just not easy to find that size.  Was much easier when I thought I wore a 36C let me tell ya... :-)

I usually just go to Target for mine. Gilligan & O'Malley is a good brand--they hold up well, are super-comfy, and have some really cute and sexy styles. I recently discovered that the reason my 34Bs weren't fitting right is because I need a 34C...derp. I tried on a ton of bras, but that brand ended up being the winner.

I do not like Victoria's Secret bras at all (the cups seem to be cut really small-- I had to go up to a 34D before I could fit into the cups without spilling over). Plus, I can't afford to drop $50-60 on a single bra!

I second the Gilligan & O'Malley @ Target. For the last few years I have been getting only Vanity Fair @ Kohls. They are the only ones that seem to give me good coverage w/o spilling over (36D and I do need underwire) and Kohl's always has them on sale. I found an adorable Gilligan & O'Malley bra at Target 2 weeks ago that was normally $12 on clearance rack for $2.75  Yep $2.75! So I bought it figuring if it didnt fit I will just return it. Let me say that from now on I will be no longer be buying $30 bras from Kohl's and getting these from Target for 12 bucks. For me the coverage, the comfort, and the look was the same, if not exceeding that of the $30 bras. And they all have cute panties to match. Double score!

I'm a 34DD. I like Wacoal too, but those are expensive. Sometimes, Fredrick's of Hollywood has good deals. JC Pennys has good bras on sale at times.

    @TeamMcGowan: Awesome deals!
