I have super oily skin and I have tried MANY different foundations including mineral foundations. I would love to hear what foundations you use or any tips / tricks to help your make up stay on without getting shiny / patchy in the middle of the day.
BTW i cant get makeupforever here in Australia 🙁 i so want to try it 🙁

Do you guys have Avon? In the summer, I love their mineral makeup (it’s the only one I’ve liked) but you have to use the primer on a freshly cleaned face. I also use Mac, mostly in the fall and winter. Sometimes I use the mineral over the Mac for longer days.

@aribanana: My face is like an oil slick and my two absolute favorite foundations are Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation and Mac Pro Longwear foundation.

@aribanana: OH! And granted that you’re not allergic to it or something, the biggest tip for oily skin I always give people is to dust corn starch (yes, you read that right) over your foundation. It seriously keeps my face matte longer than any other setting powder I’ve ever used. It does make your face very flat and powdery looking though, so I do like to follow it with a setting spray (I use No More Shine by Skindinavia) to help everything melt in together.

Has anyone tried any of the nars foundations at all?

I tend to use a BB cream rather than a foundation these days. I alternate between Ginvera and Boots Botanics. I think I prefer the Boots one, though. Decent coverage and quite mattifying.

I just switched from bare minerals (which did not help my oiliness at all) to Laura Mercier pressed powder and I love it! I don’t get oily all day!

@aribanana: I’ve used nars, ill look up what formula exactly I have. If you have good skin it gives a very pretty finish (I have acne scars and doesn’t cover enough for me). Their foundations are more of a dewy finish but surprisingly does make me more oily.
Just for thought: i have bought makeup of oily skin for years and it would like great at first and then as the day went on and it got oily the makeup would crease on my skin (eater lander longwear was the worst). I have found that using a more sheer finish with a great conclear is my best beat. No, I don’t get the matte took that I long for but it’s better than flaky oily makeup 🙂

Try Double Wear by Estee Lauder. It really stays. Then to complete the look try a powder on top – I use the Body Shop all in one face base. Really helps fend off the shininess!
