Well at night I'm using Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream. Smells good and makes your skin feel sooo soft. Love it!
In the morning, I'm using a generic brand imitating Aveeno moistorizing cream. Don't love it, so I'd love to see what others are using.
Cetaphil all the way...light and doesn't irritate. I have sensative skin and I've never had a problem with this.
I use an Aveeno light moisturizer with SPF 15. I like it! I also like the Body Shop's tea tree moisturizer.
I use Murad's age reform moisturizer. I get really dry skin too but I HATE thick and oily moisturizers. This one by Murad is light and doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing wax on my face, but it works great for bringing life and moisture back to my face.
Oil of Olay is the ish! I tried every expensive department store brand out there, and since I switched to OOO facewash and moisturizer my skin has never been better!
@FutureMrsBondo: I am also on a medicine from my dr. that is super drying to my skin. I was using Aveeno during the day and Olay at night but I was still flaking. I went into Sephora and they recommended this. IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! At first I was hesitant because I've never heard of the brand, nor is the packaging that pretty (shallow i know) but I tell you, you will NOT be disappointed. Plus, you need to use so little becuase it is so intense.
First Aid Beauty repair, ultra repair cream.

I absolutely LOVE Eucerin Creme. That being said, it can be greasy when it is first put on, but if you rub a little of the excess off with a soft towel you're good to go. And at night I lay it on thick. lol
It really is the shiznittlebambam, it's perfect for sensitive skin, youcan find it anywhere, and it won't break the bank. A 4 oz jar will last just short of forever... :)
Cetaphil is amazing for dry skin. But, use the cream in the tub, not the lotion.
Wow so many good options! Woo hoo! So glad all hope isn't lost. Thanks for all the recommendations, ladies!
I think you might like this one. I have breakout prone skin as well and when I have problems with dryness I like using Clinique Moisture Surge lotion at night. It moisturizes my skin and doesn't encourage breakouts. I find that most creams are too heavy for my face and cause breakouts and make my face sweat at night.
My face tends to break out with heavy lotions so I have to be very careful when selecting a new one. The only ones that seem to not cause pimples on my face are Dove daily moisturizer for sensitive skin and The Body Shop daily moisturizer with SPF 15. I've tried others and they just spell disaster. My mom loves Olay, but it makes me break out within the same day.
i use cetaphil. in the summer i use the facial moisturizer, and in the winter the regular lotion- my dermatologist told me to, otherwise i get super dry and my skin get irritated with the cold/wind. i use cetaphil wash, too.
I have super sensitive skin, so anything with any SPF or scent will make me break out in a rash. SO, It's taken a few years to find what's perfect for my skin.
I use DDF Ultra-Lite Oil Free Moisturizing Dew. It has a similar feel to Cetaphil, but it has an extra umph. My skin has never been happier :)
The best face lotion I have ever used was Burts Bees - I think its something with Pomegranate. They sell it at Target but its like $30 for a really small bottle. But its the best!
You can't go wrong with Clinique. There's a great lotion for every skin type. I use the yellow Dramatically Different lotion during the day in warm weather and at night and all the time in the colder months I love love love the redness solutions daily moisturizer.
Another vote for the Clinique--I use the Dramatically Different (the yellow stuff) plus Superdefense over it (yeah, I'm a little dry). If you don't want to add oil, the Moisture Surge pink goo that MissAsB recommended is awesome.
As someone on the north side of 40 I will put in a plug here for using a product with SPF, no matter what brand it is, if your skin can tolerate it.
I use Retin A too! What I do is put it on at night then I follow it with a coat of Cetaphil Cream...my dermatologist said it wouldn't affect the effectiveness of Retin A. In the morning, I use Oil of Olay serum followed by La Roche-Posay Anthelios SX Daily Moisturizing Cream SPF 15 or the Cetaphil Cream!
biotherm, the pink lotion for dry skin and it comes in a little jar. Not expensive, and doesnt make me break out. I have been searching for years for lotion that doesnt make me break out! and at night time I use retinol.
I use Alba, they sell it at Walmart and Target and it's about $15. I don't really have any skin issues, so I just use it for maintenance, though. I've used it for about two years now, and I really love it.
I use St. Ives Collagen Elastin Face Moisturizer. It works great, it's inexpensive and the best part is they do not test on animals.
Cetaphil cream in the tub - don't buy the bottled Cetaphil moisturizer, it totally sucks.
I use Olay Night Cream when I have a really dry patch or during the winter. It clears up dry patches in 2 to three days and I LOVE it!
I'm still searching for a light daytime moisturizer. I've tried most of those listed above, but I'm still not happy : ( My mom and sister both rave about Cetaphil (cleanser), but I hate it. It's filmy and drying. It just goes to show how different each person's skin is!
My mom just started using an over the counter cleanser and moisturizer that's about $15 and she really likes it. It comes in a big bottle. I'll ask her what it is.
I have started useing garneir nutritioniste skin renew cream and the moisture rescue gel. I bought both to see what I liked better. They were under 8 dollars each.
I have dry skin, but oily, and sensitive, and I also break out. I like the cream better than the gel, but I have started layering them, gel first, then cream. It does not make my skin oily, and has not caused me to break out. I love it! I used to use Lancomes 3x refil or something (she recommended it because of my skin type- I am 24, so no wrinkles) But it is so expensive!
I have tried MANY face lotions, and this is my fav so far! Good luck!
Another vote for Clinique Moisture Surge. Since I have acne-prone skin, I prefer using the gels over the lotions and creams.
Also, this sounds counterintuitive since you already have dry skin, but I find using a toner helps. I've been getting chemical peels to reduce my acne scarring and using a toner really helps reduce the amount of dry skin.
I have really dry skin and roseacea (redness in skin) and extremely sensitive skin to boot and I use Dermalogica Ultra-Calming Moisturizer, it is a bit pricey about $55 a bottle, but totally worth it, my skin looks awesome!
Aveeno facial lotions are the best! Pretty pricey, but it's seriously my holy grail for lotions.

Hey ladies!
I'm using retin a on my face in hopes of getting clear pre-wedding skin, but right now my skin is suuuuuper dry. I have a plain neutragena facial moisterizer and it just doesn't seem to do the trick. What is your favorite facial moisterizer?
Thanks!!!
