@Mrs. Spring: Sorry girlina! I'd die if I lived in Juneau - Truckee's a cake walk in comparison :)
Ok, you all have it wrong! Fargo, ND is going to win this battle! We just had a thundar-snowstorm yesterday. Interstates closed, everything cancelled! Oh how I love it here!
Lol, what kind of Tahoe girl would I be if I voted for a different city?!
But just to prove that we are real contenders in this contest, I'll post some pictures tonight of the 10 feet of snow we have in our front and back yards. :)
And maybe I'll post again after we get the additional THREE feet we're expecting over the next two days, lol!
@Mrs. Spring: Listen up Mrs. Spring -you just thank your lucky britches you can go skiing. If you lived in Juneau, your only activity with their weather would be drinking vodka lol :)
@NDBride2011: I'd vote for Fargo too. :) Or maybe International Falls
Staying inside and drinking vodka sounds like a winter sport I could dominate in.... ;)
As promised! These pictures were taken at lunch time; we've gotten about another foot of snow since then. :(
This is looking out my side window at my neighbor's house. That's our 8 foot fence, so probably 10 or so feet.
This is looking out the side window on the other side of the house, over the side/front yard. That's also an 8 foot fence.
This one is standing on our front porch, looking out toward the street. The porch is about 3 feet off the ground, so I'd say the snow here is 8 to 9 feet.
This one is looking on the front porch toward the driveway.
And this final one is standing right in front of the car, looking toward the back fence.
Wooohoooo! Fargo is in the final 4! It beat Minneapolis 91% to 9%.
Sorry but Tahoe is out! Juneau beat it 59% to 41%.
Voting for the final 4 starts Monday!!
I know, it totally broke my heart. :( we'll get 'em next year!
In other news, woot for Fargo! I'm voting for you right now!
My family is snowed in up there right now! Damn spring break! Can't believe it.
The rest of my family is in Napa, and they had TONS of flooding :(
@napabridekelsey: I believe it! We now have about 11 - 12 feet of snow, but the west shore has over 20! And most of the ski resorts are reporting well over 700 inches this year! That's 60 feet of snow!
To compare, here are some pictures from the same locations I took pictures yesterday, 24 hours and about 1.5 feet of snow later.

So a co-worker just sent this to me, and I thought it would be fun for any locals (or former locals... or people who pity us in Tahoe and the ridiculous winter we've been having!). The Weather Channel is having a "toughest Weather City" contest that is set up like a sports bracket. Right now, Tahoe is tied with Juneau for the Western title. If we win here, we'll move on to the final four!
