The thermometer reads ZERO this morning! Any cat with any inclination to come indoors has done so. But you know it's cold when a kitty has to do this to warm up! LOL

You know it's cold when my hubby actually wants to snuggle with me, instead of the other way around!
This winter when we stayed with my parents, they forgot to open the vent in the guest room our first night there - he spooned me all night long, hahahaha, and we normally sleep not touching at all.
Kitty's are so silly. I live in LA so I have nothing to say about cold but your kitty is cute!
You know it is cold when your dog doesn't want to come out of his kennel (he sleeps in his kennel and wakes us up bright and early every morning to take him out!) and you find him snuggled in his bed, UNDER his blanket. SO CUTE!
You know its cold when your usually empty gym fills up with runners escaping the outdoors. :( I cant get a treadmill...
You know its cold when you walk to school and a chunk of your hair breaks off!! then you get there to be turned around bc all the pipes are frozen and the school is closed!!!! arghhhhh

When you take you DH skiing and all the lifts are close bc of frost bite :(
When the handle of your car breaks off in your hand because the door seals are frozen solid!

People in ATL stop wearing flip flops!
I swear we wear them usually about year round. Today I was at the grocery and sure enough, I saw 2 people in flip flops and jeans.
The snow leaves, the sun peeps out and it hits almost 50 degrees, heck ATL begins with the flip flops again!

I know it's cold out when I layer up and go out to throw the frisbee for the puppy and she fetches it, drops it at my feet and starts tapping the door with her paw!
@cyndistar3: ugggggh I hated the hair freeze when I lived in northern China! And when your eyes tear up because of the wind, but the tears freeze to your eyelashes and then your eyelashes crack off (or you blink and can't open your eye!) >:O
I also reallllly hated when I would wrap a scarf around my face, my breath would fog my glasses, and the fog would freeze, forcing me to take my gloves off to chip it off so I could see where I was walking!

WOW! I am going for the simple one that my dog refuses to go outside to pee. The poor things will ring the bell to go out and as soon as you open the door they will run and hide.
haha...when my husband actually uses the comforter, and when about 5 minutes after I get in bed (enough time to warm up the bed!), my cat comes running top speed up the stairs, jumps into bed, dives under ALL the blankets and curls up between my legs to sleep.
Also, when you start your car and it reads the outdoor temp as -18 and the tires are frozen. :( brrrr!!
...you have to open your door when you go through the drive-thru at Dunkin's because your windows are frozen and won't go down!

You know its cold when you are going to sleep wearing a long sleeve shirt, pants and sleeping underneath 5 blankets AND have a space heater!!!
You know it's cold when the propane on your BBQ freezes and you have to make your steak in the oven!!! LOL! It's currently -18 C right now, feels something like -27. I wish I didn't have to go out today!!

When your dogs pee on the porch because it's too cold to go down the stairs to do it.
When the digital thermometer in the center of town goes on the fritz because it's only programmed to -10.

..... when you are about to leave for work "early" but your garage store is stuck shut and there is no one at home to help you. And you are just at 5 feet tall (or short?!) and struggling like a maniac to get it open. Then finally get it up after 20 mins of this intense uncalled for 'strength training'. Only to be greeted by slow-a*s drivers, more than usual busses, construction galore! (Did ALL roads decide to start constructing simultaneously on the coldest day ever!?) And let's not forget being tail-gated by a cop hoping to pull you over. Umm... in 5 km/hr, GOOD LUCK! (Jerk!)
