So Halloween is quickly approaching, and DH and I have a few parties to attend this weekend. Problem is, we don't really feel like paying $60 each for an outfit! And if we attend both, that could be two outfits!! (Same friends circle.. it might be awkward to wear the same clothes two days in a row)

What is everyone doing for Halloween costumes? I know it's cheesy to match, but he's military so this is the first Halloween we've spent together and I want to match!! And cute DIY costumes??

i would think about what you want to be and then see if you can hit up goodwill for costumes.

I really wanted to do katy perry and russle brand, the only thing you would really need to buy is wigs (which are cheap at walmart)

My FI and I are going as a pilot and flight attendant. (Kinda PanAm inspired if y'all watch it.) If y'all both work in a office setting you'd probably have most of it. Him: a white button down, black tie, and black pants, just need to purchase a cheap pilot hat and maybe a plastic set of wings. You: button down with a pencil skirt and heels. Tie a scarf around your neck and maybe find a retro-ish hat? Good luck!

I was trying to convince DH to go to his work party as John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever and a disco ball (I'm pregnant, so I thought it was funny.)

Also, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter/White Rabbit, Batman and Catwoman, Harry and Ginny, Sid and Nancy, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Ventriloquist and his dummy, Superman and Wonder Woman, Mr and Mrs Incredible, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, dead Marie Antoinette and the Executioner.

Or, if you have some old clothes you don't mind ruining... you could just get some makeup and stage blood and go as a zombie couple.

We might be a zombie Madonna (from Like A Virgin) and Sean Penn for Halloween this year.

We're going as a bee and bee keeper. DH's costume was $17. He bought a tyvek jump suit from home depot for $4.99 and a bee keeper hat at the costume store for $12. At the costume store this was $45. I bought a bee outfit from Torrid for $34.

this year my 18mo DS is tagging along, so i'm the princess, FI is the knight, and DS is the dragon.  next year we're doing the cliche angel/devil pair (he'll be the angel and i'll be the devil, lol).

maybe darth vader and princess leia? (we considered this for this year too, and putting DS in a yoda costume, but he wouldn't keep the ears on when we tried it on him.  kinda hard to be yoda without the ears.  it's our backup for next year, should DS be tagging along again.)

DH has been growing out his beard allll month to be a lumberjack. And he wants me to be a lumberjill so that's our plan! It's pretty easy to put together...just jeans, red flannel shirt, suspenders and a fake ax for him. I'm wearing black jeans, boots, a black and red flannel shirt, a tool belt with an axe and a lumberjack hat!
