What crafts do you do? Post pics if you have any sweet creations.

I really want do something with my hands. I would really like to try scrapbooking or jewelry making. I think i'd need to take some class to get me started.

I literally just started knitting 2 weeks ago for the same reason and just finished my first creation yesterday.  A 10 stitch wide, 6 foot long scarf...now on to attempting a patchwork hat :)

I love beading! I've been making ornaments for all the women in my life every Christmas for a few years now. I started off making jewelry, but find I don't really wear it too much and the ornaments are just a huge hit. This year I'm going to try to make little beaded boxes for everyone, if time permits.

These are the boxes I'm going to start making:

Probably not the best option for most people since it is so time consuming, but I make quilts.

Here are two of my most recent ones:

If you want something you can do with a minimum of preparation, I enjoy calligraphy. It takes a long time to start getting the letters right, and such, but if I want to sit down and work on it, all I really need to do is grab a fountain pen and some nice paper. It's what I do when I'm in a lazy creative mood :).

I scrapbook. I have completed a scrapbook for high school, college, and am now working on one of events after college, as well as one of my dog. I print all the pictures from my camera, and then after I scrapbook them I categorize the ones I didn't use in a box by year. It's a good way for me to organize pictures and all those little mementos I get from things, such as tickets. I think it is fun and it is worthwhile!

Right now I'm making decoupage glass magnets. I don't have any picture on here unfortunately, but the'yre pretty easy to describe. You just put some flat glass round stones from Michaels, decoupage glue, round magnets and a little decoupage paintbrush. You then find things that you want to make magnets of. I'm currently making a set of 10 for my brother and his gf as a gift of all of the places that are important to them so they are map magnets! They are so easy, you can do them while watching TV or a movie and they are really cute and a perfect gift for anyone!

    They're like this...http://pinterest.com/pin/192779733/

Here's another (non map) example http://pinterest.com/pin/64142089/

(NWR) Craft & Other Hobbies : wedding crafts hobbies BraceletI knit and do jewelry. I kind of quit the scarf I was working on during wedding planning and haven't gotten back to it yet although our wedding was 3 months ago lol. But I've started doing chain maille jewelry which, although it can be kind of expensive to make, is right up my alley. I like making regular jewelry, but I really love working with pliers and weaving the itty bitty rings together to come up with such an interesting creation. I just finished my first bracelet and pair of earrings which I gave to my mom while she was here this weekend and she loved them! They look similar to the picture above except the wire is copper, I loved the warm color.

I restore and repurpose old furniture and other items.  I love the creativity of it. I also make things with beads and am thinking about making fabric flower bridal bouquets.  Lots of ideas!  I'm learning how to sew so I can make all the throw pillows I want!

@sit1010:  It really is.  I can spend a full day just sitting in my studio and making bowl after bowl after bowl.  The one thing to remember, however, is that if you want to try the wheel, it will probably take more than just one class for you to become proficient.  The first semester I took ceramics, I spent at least twenty hours each week working on it and practicing, and it still took me about three months to make something half decent.  Once you get there, though, it's awesome.  :)

    @GreenEyedMoon: Wow!! That's amazing!!!

I needlefelt, do papercrafts (invitations for parties, Christmas and birthday cards, etc), and I'm currently taking a sewing class to ramp up my skills beyond straight lines, lol. I'm a REALLY basic knitter but that's only something I do a couple times a year. I used to cross stitch, but I haven't picked one up in years. I also love to bake (obviously by my name!) and do cake decorating.

@MaiFuture: I'm in LOVE with that first quilt, so unique and the colors are stunning! I adore the second one as well! I would love to start quilting! I have no sewing experience since garde school economics though and don't know really where to start. FI and I are in the process of buting a new hosue and I have decided one of the extra bedrooms will be my "creative room" where my new sewing machine will go. Any tips for newbies?

This time of year I'm always looking to start new things. Project Runway has made me want to design clothes but I have yet to attempt it. Currently I'm restoring an old steamer trunk that I found a yard sale for $30. It's been a lot of work but I've enjoyed lugging it outside and stripping and sanding away at it. This coming weekend I think it will be time to stain it. A few weeks ago I stripped the paint of an old chest of drawers, sanded it down and repainted it, its looks brand new and I've fallen in love with the same piece of furniture I've been debating throwing away for 5 years now lol.

I also want to make a new headboard for the king size bed Fi and I are getting. One that is cloth covered in something fabulous. I've seen it done on HGTV and there are a few websites that have instructions and it seems to be pretty simple, knock on wood ;)

I also would like to make my own curtains and pillow shams, I think that will be a December-Feb project though.

I would also love to learn to reupholster furniture, anyone on here done that?

    I love everyone creativity!!!

@GreenEyedMoon: Thanks! The penguin was my first ever attempt at needle felting! I also really like felting little mice for my cats with catnip pillows inside. They stand up pretty well to the constant gnawing and slobber too!

@cleve_girl01: Those are the neatest Christmas ornaments I've ever seen! What a great idea!

I love crochet. I make baby blankets, booties, hats. I volunteer for my church and I make baby blankets sets for single moms. I also make those for my friends when they are expecting :-)  Right now I'm working on doing this king size blanket for our bed, it's almost done, I'll post pictures when I'm completed.

I make friendship bracelets for little girls with the embroydery thread which I love to do and I also bake which is one of my passions. I don't have any pictures at the moment since I'm at work, but I'll look for some when I get home tonight.

It's nice to see all the amaizing crafty Bees out there.

@GreenEyedMoon: There's a little independent shop right by where I live that offers one on one pottery classes. It is $65 for 4 classes (one a week for one month) including all materials. I figured it could be a nice little treat for myself every couple of months. But now after what you've told me I think I will wait. I don't think I have enough time to commit to it right now. I won't have my own wheel and I'm not sure if I'll be able to use theirs outside of class. Your information was really helpful!

@sit1010:  Aww, I don't want to chase you off from clay.  I like to convert people.  If you don't have as much time to devote to it, perhaps you could just do handbuilding.  It doesn't require quite as much technical skill, but you can still make some fabulous stuff.  I don't make any pottery when I handbuild, but that's my personal preference.  That doesn't mean you can't, though.  You can also make sculptures or whatever you want!

I make teacup candles!  I made them all for my wedding centerpieces, and am hoping to make and sell them someday.  I actually made my first one for a Christmas present for my MIL and left the wick long and attached a little "tea bag" paper to the end.  I loved making them -- it's so relaxing!!

@nickels: It really isn't hard to start quilting. I mean you won't be making the fanciest quilt tops ever at first but I just got a pattern and started sewing! They make these pre-cut fabrics called jelly rolls and charm packs that make starting out really easy. I wish I had pictures of the quilts I've made. They aren't going to be winning any awards but it is fun.
