Yes, but I can’t remember the last time I used it.

I’ve had mine for a long time. I don’t use it very often, but when I do it makes fantastic bread. I usually use it for banana bread so I don’t have to bother with the yeast.

@linnylou_88:  We love our bread machine! We (meaning I) use it most often to make dough to shape and bake in the oven or freeze for later (we freeze a lot of pizza dough). Bread machine bread seems to not last as long as store-bougt bread, so it needs to be consumed quickly (sounds like that’s not a problem for your FI!)

For me, I’ve found that the key to getting good use out of the bread machine is to actually keep it out on the counter with the recipe booklet close on hand so you don’t have to dig it out of a closet/cabinet. If it is put “away” I’m much less likely to lug it out and use it.

We live in a TINY apartment with zero counter space, so I went so far as to purchase a moveable kitchen island unit to keep the machine on. I would not use it as much otherwise!

I got one for DH a few years ago. He loves it!! The best part of hours is the delay feature – you put in all the ingredients the night before, set it to a 7 hour delay, and then you have fresh bread when you wake up in the morning – and you wake up to the yummy fresh bread smell!!!

Nope. Everybody goes to the neighborhood bakeries here. It’s kind of a big deal.

i have the sunbeam one and i love it!! I didnt know panasonic made bread machines…. the biggest thing to look at is the ease of use….I started off with box bread mixes until i got the hang of the machine and the settings and now i make a variety of recipies with it my fave is the whole grain honey oat recipie that came in my recipie booklet….its amazing….

I say do it….we love ours and use it often….

@linnylou_88:  Oh. I’ve never made bread before, so I have no idea what all is involved with it. I’ve just always heard of people making it in the oven. Never actually heard of an appliance thats soley for making bread.

I use mine pretty often.   We make pizza dough in it too (in fact, we’re having pizza tonight, so I have two batches of dough to make today!)

I have a Black and Decker horizontal loaf bread maker, I’ve had it for maybe 7 or 8 years so I bet it’s not on the market anymore but if I had to buy another I would definitely go with a Black and Decker based on my good experience with it.

My father also has a B&D, he has one of the old ones, probably bought in the 90s when they were a new fad, and his still works  🙂
