I could fumble through it if need be but it isn’t pretty.  I’d need to watch a video on YouTube first in order to reduce the inevitable swearing and frustrations that would accompany my many attempts.

I know how to tie one well enough to pass. DH knows how to do a Windsor, and I have to admit that it’s pretty friggin sexy!

I couldn’t figure that out if my life depended on it.

@Cynderbug:  Same here. As it was part of our school uniform I could tie a tie from age 7. My skills are a bit rusty, so it my take a bit longer now but I can get through it.

My SO works in high end men’s retail and he definitely knows how to tie a tie in many different ways. I learned a basic tie, but I don’t remember what it’s called. He’s also pro at folding pocket squares.

I know how to do tie, wore one for school. I haven’t been there when my fiancé has put his on but seeing as he has worked there for over 10 years, I think he knows what he is doing. Besides, he starts work after I’ve gone to work myself so when we are married, I won’t be there to help!

@Cynderbug:  Whenever FI has to wear a tie, he hands it over to me. I know the single windsor. Someone once taught me double windsor (I worked at a restaurant where ties were part of the uniform), but I can’t remember it.

Even though I can tie it, I almost always tie it much too short or much too long for him! Obviously my skills need honing. I get the feeling he will be asking my dad or his dad for help to tie his tie on our wedding day.

I actually taught my husband to tie his tie!

He can do it himself if I’m not here, but I think he likes it when I do it for him 🙂

Because of the uniform I wore for 10 years, and the unholy hour that school started at, I can tie a tie in my sleep 😛 I always have to tie DH’s tie. He was a groomsman for a friend not too long ago and I tied his tie and sent him off to meet the other guys. Not long after I get a frantic call instructing me to go to the groom’s room where the other men in the wedding party were all trying to follow youtube videos to tie their ties, with varying success. I ended up tying them all!

For our wedding, he practiced a few days before and tied his own tie for the first time in hmm…12 years? He was so very proud of himself 😛

I have absolutely no clue how to tie a tie.

I’m not actually sure if SO does, but he’s worn a tie before and I sure didn’t tie it so he must know…

I have no idea how to tie a tie, not to mention my husband is a perfectionist about his ties (& style in general, for that matter) so he wouldn’t want my help even if I offered.
