I don’t have one but we were wanting to get a new mattress soon so I did some research.  We ultimately decided to get a Tempurpedic.  Obviously I don’t know if this is true but I read that some people had issues with mildew building up inside of the actual sleep number since it’s an air chamber.

My friends just got the Tempurpedic. Although it’s taking some “getting used to”, they seem pretty happy with their purchase.

Me and my ex had one, and I will tell you one thing – do not get it if there is a big weight differential between the 2 of you. Him and I were almost 100 lbs difference, and everything was fine when he was in bed, and as soon as he got out, I went straight to the bottom. Plus, since each side is in a separate hard plastic chamber, you cold sometimes feel it if both sides were different hardnesses.

@MrsSl82be:  I wonder if this is why my husband and I didn’t like the Sleep Number bed!

My sister had one, and when we both hated sleeping on that when we’d go visit her.  If you both sleep on separate sides of the bed, it might work ok, but if you like to cuddle in the middle of the night, you’ll end up hitting that hard plastic piece.  Plus, I also ended up with no air on my side, which means basically sleeping on a hard piece of plastic.

I don’t but I recently slept in a hotel that had them. I was soo excited about this amazing sleep that I was about to have and BAM worst sleep ever. It’s soo true about when one person gets out the other side sinks and it wakes me up.

My mom has a tempurpedic bed and while house sitting I’ve slept in it a few times and I agree that it takes some getting used to, but it is actually very comfortable, and feels way more supportive than the sleep number.

We have one. Actually, I had one before I met my hubby and it was the 2nd to the lowest model. My ex was 100+ lbs more than me and it was not comfortable if he ever spent the night. I ad the same issues with hitting the middle, etc.

But, my hubby’s bed is a better version – I think it’s the 2nd to the top model. And, it makes a HUGE difference. My hubby is about 75 lbs more than I am, and we are always comfortable. And we cuddle a lot, and sleep on eachother’s sides all the time. He constantly changes his number, depending on how his back feels, while I stick to the same number all the time.

If you’re going to get one, you need to invest in a higher model. It makes a huge difference.
