- Wedding: August 2013
I was just put in charge of planning my masters of accounting class graduation dinner/dance. The good news is that it isn’t until October 2015 and I was just married so I kind of know what I’m doing and have lots of time to figure it out. But here’s the thing. I have no idea where to start. For weddings you start with big things like venue, photographer, dress… but for a graduation ball you don’t need all that. I’m thinking I’ll start with the venue, but then what??? theme? food? What do you need for this type of event? should I be planning centerpieces? favours? photobooth? Should I be finding guest speakers? HELP!
Also, I’m thinking if I figure out a theme it will help to control my ideas and keep everything looking neat and tidy. So do I go big with something like “oh the places you’ll go” or something cute like “pearls of wisdom”, “keys to success”, “the world is your oyster” or do I keep it simple and just choose a color scheme?? What would you do?
