The Singapore Sling was invented at the Raffles hotel in Singapore. It's VERY yummy and I fell in love with it during my trip to Singapore last year. I've seen it once locally in a japanese steak house, lol.
@kericita - I like the pomtini idea! Looks very easy and not like too many ingredients!
@magenta - Sounds like a liquored up milkshake. Yum!
I love Pimm's Cups-they are summery and not too sweet.
I also like Dark and Stormys. They are both good drinks if you don't like overly sweet or fruity.
@cakegal - What's in Pimm's Cups? Last summer I decided that Dark & Stormys were my hypothetical new favorite cocktail. I never got around to trying one, but I really love how it sounds. I generally like most things with ginger.
Pimm's Cups are a British summer drink (they are traditional to drink at Wimbledon)
There are many variations but it is basically Pimm's #1 (a flavored gin) with ginger ale or 7up garnished with a cucumber slice. Google it and you will get a million different recipes.
That is cute idea!!
I am from the Louisville Kentucky area, so the Ky. Derby is a BIG deal. This a drink that is served at the track. I LOVE it!!!
Oaks Lily
1 oz. Finlandia Vodka
1 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
3 oz. Cranberry Juice
Splash of Triple Sec
Once the ingredients are mixed, place Lily in a tall glass with crushed ice, and garnish with an orange wedge and cherry or blackberries.
SO YUMMY!!!
My favorite drink is a Blue Hawaiian-your tongue turns blue after 2.
mmmmm these all sound good!!
Blue Motorcycle
1 1/2 oz 1800® Tequila
fill with sweet and sour mix
1 1/2 oz rum
1 splash 7-Up® soda
1 1/2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz gin
1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
@Tonya2010 - I am having a Kentucky Derby party this year, I was already planning on making mint juleps, but I'll add that one in too! Yum!
Okay I will share my family margarita recipe which makes the BEST margarita's EVER and easy peasy to remember!
In a shaker for 2 of abuelito's award winning margaritas:
2 oz orange juice- any kind, I've even used sunny D in a pinch lol
2 oz of key lime juice - this can be bought in the grocery store in a bottle (not the little plastic lime shaped bottle, it will actually say KEY LIME juice on it)
2 oz of triple sec - use blue curacau if you want to make them aqua colored (could make an awesome signature drink for someone!)
6 oz of tequila- use the good stuff for these Sauza hornitos is perfect for parties, I avoid jose cuervo like the plague.
I add sweet n low to mine, they sell it in bulk and I put 2 little pink spoonfulls in.
Fill the shaker with Ice, and shake shake shake!
Salt your rims (I have done crystal sugar too but it's not as tasty) and pour! I serve mine up, (with no ice) but you can add the ice from the shaker if you like, but you probably won't be able to fit all of it so pour and then add ice that fits!
I love, love, LOVE an extra dry, extra dirty Ketel One martini. YUM. And I also dig a good, strong margarita in the summer.
I can't drink anything too sweet, it makes me gag.
We are looking for a signature cocktail for our wedding and I had a friend send me this. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but it might be something fun to try!

My girlfriends and I have decided to start a new ladies night tradion . . . Whoever hosts the ladies night is supposed to introduce a new cocktail to the group - look up the recipe, supply the liquor to make it and make the cocktails for everyone.
So, I am the first person to host the ladies night and need a recipe! What are your favorite cocktails/cocktail recipes!
Mojito Ingredients
3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda
