Yes it does. I have had multiple people that went to my high school but I never talked to ever that send me friend requests. I also had a group of people request to be my friend because they thought I was someone else. When I told them I wasn't they all wanted to become friends anyway which was strange to me. I've also never gotten adding 100 new friends with the same name as you. I also like adding people I haven't talked to in years though. I found my old best friend from down the street that I hadn't seen since fourth grade one day so that was nice.
No offense to anyone who does this - but I HATE having to friend people's dogs. I think it's cute to have a pet page, and if you let other people voluntarily friend them, then it's adorable.
But FI has a friend that I don't particularly care for, and she kept bugging me to friend her dog. She even did it to a friend of mine that she met one time. It's ridiculously annoying. :P
Nah, it doesn't really bother me. I just ignore the friend request if I don't know them. I usually accept the friend request if we are acquaintances (like friend-of-a-friend and we met at a party).
@jo.lee: Luckily I haven't had any pet requests yet. I think that's where I'd have to draw the line
I haven't had any pet requests either, LOL. It doesn't really bother me when random people add me - as long as I know them or did at one point. I accept pretty much all friend requests though.
I've not had a pet request either -- yet.
I don't mind the random friend requests from people I don't know. I usually assume (since I have a common name) they thought I am someone else with the same name and I ignore them.
If it is someone I went to high school with but never really knew, I'll add them. I have had a few of these actually turn out well. High school was a long time ago and people change. I actually got to know a guy who didn't give me the time of day in high school. He sent me a friend request on Facebook, we met in person a few weeks at a gathering of mutual friends that was arranged on Facebook, and we started dating. We weren't right for each other, but are still good friends.
Definitely hate the pet friend requests - or just as bad, the BABY friend requests - your one year old (or even your 3 year old) is not using facebook so why are you making a page for them?
I dont understand why you would request to be the friend of a random person. I just ignore those. I will add people that are from my past though because its fun to reconnect without totally reconnecting!!

Does it bother anyone else that random people request them?! It drives me nuts & it happens all the time.
Yes maybe we have 28 friends in common but I DONT KNOW YOU, WE HAVE NEVER MET!
Or we went to school together- We were not friends then, why should we be now?
However I dont mind the requests of people I went to school with and havent talked to in 10+ years because we were friends and reconnecting is great!
