Hallo, Bees! SO and I just got back from one of the yummiest dinners we’ve had since we moved out here to CA – at a food truck! It’s called Tacomania and we’ve been passing it for weeks, and there’s always a crowd. So tonight I was craving Mexican and we said why not? It was incredible! I had a veggie taco and a chorizo taco plus some of SO’s beans and rice. Mmmm. So stuffed!
This was the first time I’ve eaten anything from a food truck, but I’ve always loved the idea. I know there are tons out there nowadays with all kinds of unique themes and specialties.
So what’s your favorite food truck? What do you usually order?
ETA: Added some hot poll action to the thread for your voting pleasure 🙂

We have a lot of ridiculous regulations in my city that make operating a food truck prohibitively expensive, but a lot of start ups are getting the financial backing to operste them. My favourite is Caplansky’s (Toronto: http://www.caplankys.com) for yummy smoked meat sandwiches.

We like asian fusion (banh mi’s!!!) and FI is a huge fan of Torchys Tacos here in Austin. We also have a dessert food trailer we love called Gordough’s. They are giant doughnuts topped with assorted amazingness!
Now I want a doughnut….

The Grease Trucks at Rutgers. They were featured on MVF. Several local restaurants offer the “fat” sandwiches on their menus.

We don’t have food trucks where I live. 🙁 We have the guy who sells sausages from a cart in the downtown core, and the ice cream man that frequents some neighbourhoods.

@MissCalifornia: I LOVE food truck food here – probably a little too much. It’s actually very entertaining to see what people come up with – I am constantly amazed by what types of food can be sold out of trucks.

@MissCalifornia: gorilla grilled cheese or coolhaus ice cream. I live in NYC, so there are a million food trucks, but those are my favorites.

We have scads of them in Madison, WI, and they are *fantastic*. Some of my faves include Indonesian and the Venezuelan empanada guy.
