What about a 'travel kit' of things from home? Things that would remind her of home but also be practical, like ummm...
If it were for me I'd like, a tub of vegemite (aussies live off this), a decent book, some photos of friends and family I could put in my room where I was staying, maybe a nice pillowcase (if you are crafty you could embroider or screen print something on it), some good quality coffee or tea (i'm very picky), and some local sweets/chocolates. Pop them all in a basket or bag, (maybe a nice drawstring bag she could use to hold her washing?) and voila! Personalised present.

Hi! This question isn't wedding related, but I could really use y'alls help. My best friend's birthday is on next Monday, and I am leaving on Friday to go visit her for the weekend. I am having the hardest time thinking of a birthday present for her. See, she's leaving in July to go teach English in Hungary for a year. I want to get her something she can actually take with her. With my wedding approaching so quickly, I have no creative juice left. Hive, y'all are SO creative, help me out! Please!
