My little sister is having a cyst removed later this month. I am currently living across the country, and I know she is very nervous about the effects on her fertility & her recovery, so I would like to send her something to let her know I’m thinking of her since I can’t be there. I was considering flowers, but I’m wondering if anyone has any more creative ideas?

perhaps something comfy she can lounge around in while she recovers. Nordstrom has some very soft tanktop/loose pant lounge sets that are very nice. They are just a little more “grownup” looking than some of the sweatsuits out there. Or maybe a supersoft, luxuious bathrobe if she likes that sort of thing. Any comfy clothes that would be easy for her to get on and off without someone to help her. After I had abdominal surgery, I was so grateful for any clothes I could get on and off myself and not feel like a 2 year old being dressed by my mom.
Does she have any favorite authors? Maybe a few “easy” reading books for while she recovers. Or a movie that she likes.
That’s so sweet you want her to know you are thinking of her even when you can’t be with her Thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery for your sister.

When I had surgery a couple of years ago my family got me my favorite movies and books since I was on bed rest. It really helped a lot

@MrsPaulsBabyBallerina: I agree with this, pretty and comfy pjs and a book maybe some crosswords or activity stuff that’ll keep her busy for awhile if she’ll be out of commission? Also are you talking about pj salvage by chance? I love love love those, they also sell them at nordstrom rack, they are so wonderfully soft! And super cute

If she is having abdominal surgery, perhaps a more chemies/dress type PJ cause I’m sure an elastic waist band would be uncomfortable. And I think books/movie would be a good thing for her while she is recovering.

@MsJ2theZ: I’ve seen the PJ Salvage ones. I honestly don’t know what brand they are though. I’ve always bought a pretty set of loungewear for my friends when they have their first baby, in addition to the gift for the baby. I’ve been told they appreciate having something new and pretty to wear that doesn’t feel quite so jammies like so that they are comfortable enough having visitors over.

When I had surgery my sister got me some really fluffy bed socks and one of those things you put in the microwave and it warms up – the heat pad type thing.
Also magazines are good.
Flowers are always good too to help lift your spirits!
