I suggest you visit Shauna James Ahern's website, http://glutenfreegirl.com/ and look through her blog archives or on her Twitter feed for restaurant mentions. She was formerly based in Seattle and still lives in Washington State. I'm not personally GF, but when we visited Seattle, we tried a few of the places she's mentioned and the food was always great. So hopefully you'll be able to find a few restaurants that will be safe for you AND provide excellent food. Good luck!
In Ballard, Volterra is an awesome Italian restaurant that does gluten free pasta (plus has yummy risotto!). In Fremont, I love the Flying Apron Bakery which is a gluten free bakery.
give these a look!

I'd really appreciate the help.
I am Celiac/gluten free and going to visit the Ballard district in August. I found over 400 things on urban spoon, but I'd like to know what you ladies actually recommend for gluten free food. Like, some places say they can do gluten free, then you get there and they give you salad. No thanks! ;)
I will also be in the downtown/touristy areas. Thanks in advance!
