I’M SO NERVOUS!!! Ahhh. I’ve never bought anything online, but I just bought these charms (part of a Christmas Present for my mom) from Etsy. The shop is 5 star rated, has made thousands of sales, and the reviews are positive. Was the purchase a good idea?? The lady who owns it seems sweet, and her customers are satisfied. How much can you trust that though??
Bees with experience with online shopping, please calm me down 🙁

@VictoriaK1990: I probably buy something off etsy at least once or twice a month. All of the sellers I have encountered are fantastic and even sometimes deposit 10% back into my paypal wallet for being a return costumer! I love etsy 😀

I’ve bought a TON of stuff from etsy. I’ve never had a problem with any of the sellers there.

If the seller has sold a lot of things, and has a lot of positive feedback, you can trust them about 99%. They don’t want to ruin their good feedback! A lot of etsy sellers are SUPER nice, and willing to bend over backwards to make the customers happy.

Ii’ve bought several things from etsy. I had one issue where I ordered a personalized gown hanger and they made it and sent me the wrong color wood. I called the seller and she immediately sent me a new one!

And remember, if you for any reason get screwed over, you always have the option to dispute it through paypal. I don’t think you have any reason to worry, though.

I buy stuff on Etsy all the time, and I’ve never had a problem.

I regularly purchase from Etsy and my husband is about to buy my new wedding band there! Of course we trust the process because we have an Etsy shop with almost 11,000 sales (mostly personalized hangers) so we know it’s legit if you do your research on the shop first.

I’ve purchased a lot from etsy also… a personalized wedding hanger, Oragami owl charms (so cheap!), customized drink holsters, everything has been amazing and I will definetly continue to purchase from etsy sellers! You should have nothing to worry about!

I had issues with shipping (they messed up and sent only 2 items and I ordered 4. The issue was 3 of them were the same size and the packer didn’t realize and only shipped 1 of that size.)
The seller was fantastic. I was leaving to go overseas with them, so he rush shipped them to me in Canada (they came from the US, and the original order/shipping went to the US – we have a post box there, but I didn’t have time to get back to it before the trip.) He responded to my email to notify him of the mistake within an hour from his phone, and then followed up and figured out how it happened later that night from his computer.
I wouldn’t heistate to order from him (or anyone) again.

I’ve never purchased anything very expensive from etsy, but everything I have purchased has turned out well. I love etsy! I always look at prior customer reviews and read what they write, especially if it’s the exact same item I’m purchasing. I am more inclined to buy something when other people say positive things about the items from the seller.
The only issue I ever had was something a PP mentioned–shipping. USPS lost one of my items and it needed to be remade and shipped again.

Everything I have gotten off Etsy has been fantastic, but I would definatly read the seller’s rules before you buy. I had one seller that refused to take returns, which I should have read before I ordered from them. The purchase was pricy, and I had cold feat on it before it came. When it got here, though, I LOVED it, and would not even think about returning it.
Also, reviews by prior customers are very helpful. Don’t just look at the stars, look at what people say about it.

Funny story about Etsy – when we were planning our wedding I DIY’d everything, always been a bit of a “designer” type. My daughter said “You should list these things on Etsy!” and I was like, WHAT is an ETSY??? I had never heard of it. I said “Who buys wedding stuff online???” But I listed it. And thankfully, apparently, a lot of people do.

@VictoriaK1990: I have bought a couple items off of Etsy and had a great experience each time. I would definitely buy there again. I agree about reading reviews, I always check those out first.
