I've taken the morning after pill, but not this one. I actually didn't even know there was such a thing?
From what I have read, there will probably be some pain, cramps and bleeding. Have you done an internet search on this pill before? That's what I would do in order to prepare you and your friend. Sorry this is happening, but good luck to you both!
i've taken plan b the but never this! Sounds scary, its like an abortion in your toilet
I have. No fun, but it isn't the end of the world.
Basically, I had the worst cramps of my life for a few hours, then slept a lot. My two best friends and my now FI (this was five years ago) took turns with me the whole time. From taking the last pill, the process was about a day.
You can let her know it will not be fun, but that it isn't anything a woman can't handle. It isn't searing pain, just great discomfort.
For you, I would recommend bringing lots of food and some books and movies. She will probably sleep lots after the cramps.
You are a good friend for being there. I will never forget the girls who were there for me, and they are now my BMs.
My friend did this. Yes there is a lot of pain and discomfort. It is very nice and helpful of you to being staying with her so that she won't be alone.
Do some internet searches for exact details but I do wish good luck to you and your friend. You are a wonderful friend and I'm sure she appreciates what you are doing.
i did a report on it in grad school. it was a while ago so i don't remember all that much, but i feel like, what otb said, side effects are pain and bleeding.
Here is some the planned parenthood website and the information it provides regarding the "abortion pill".

Good luck to you and your friend.
Thank you so much for you help and to the people who sent me PMs
I am sharing all this info with my freind when I see her tonight. Thank you...I love the hive! I know I can always come here to get awnsers
I have taken the morning after pill, something I am not terribly proud of. It was a mistake, a drunken mistake, and thank the Lord that I don't drink anymore. I was taken advantage of, this was before I met Josh, so I was a bit more wild than I am now. Let's just say don't play the "i have never" game while taking shots of Jack Daniels... not good! The guy I was seeing didn't have as much to drink, and was fully aware of what he was doing when it happened. But the good thing is, he was responsible enough to buy me the pill for the morning after. I wasn't ready for kids!
A good friend of mine took it and from what I understand, it is basically the worse cramps ever. She felt it was a better option than other forms of termination b/c she could schedule when she would take it and where she would be. We were home with her and she stayed medicated. Besides the cramping you did throw up quite alot. After a few days, she was back to normal.
I don't know anyone who took the pill, but I was with my previous room mate when she miscarried. It was really scary. She bleed so much she started to act dizzy and drunk. She went to the hospital and was there for days to recover. I'm not saying your friend will go through this, but from what I've seen it's scary.
I imagine your friend already took "the pill" how is she doing now? By the way, she's lucky to have you, you sound like a great friend!

No...I don't mean THAT pill. I mean the pill you take when you DIDN'T take the pill
Ok...enough beating around the bush. My very good freind found out that she is pregnant last night. This is not good news. She went to planned parenthood to confirm...and yep, she is pregnant.
I know this is a touchy topic for some...but she is not going to keep it. Because she is less than 9weeks along...she is able to just take an "abortion pill"...which from what I understand causes you to miscarry. She was told by the doc that she must have someone with her for 72 hours to make sure nothing goes wrong. Because she is single and lives alone...I am going to stay with her.
I was wondering if any of you have taken this pill before. I wonder if there is any info so that I can tell her what she is in for. I worry she may be in a lot of pain and maybe really sick.
Do any of you have experience with this?
