Nope, never been hacked thankfully. But my old roommate’s ex-boyfriend hacked her email and her Skype account.

I don’t have Facebook anymore but a couple years ago, it did happen to me. I don’t know who it was but it was pretty annoying. It kept happening over a few days until I figured out to go change my e-mail account’s password (it was the same password as my facebook password), as well was my FB password and it stopped happening.

I’ve gotten random attempted hacks, but they’ve always been failed attempts.

When this happens, facebook sends you an email telling you there has been failed login attempts at such and such a location, and you need to click on whether or not you have tried signing on from that location. This has always happened from random places like Russia and China.

I’m pretty sure mine has, my ex fi tried to friend me, we are NOT on good terms and I basically never want to see or speak to him again and it’s better for me if he is “dead to me”…. So obviously I didn’t respond to the friend request, and I didn’t want to outright deny it and have him try again so I just left it in my friend request  box… About two weeks later I see on my wall “you are now friends with EX FI”.  I know for a fact that I didn’t accept that request and the only person with access to my account is Fiance and besides the fact that he doesn’t go on his facebook, let alone mine; and it was around a time when I knew both of us were at work so I think my ex or someone hacked in to see my profile since it was super private just to accept that one friend request…  Strangest thing ever.  After that my password got changed and I blocked him, it’s been better ever since.

First off, no, I’ve never been hacked.  I actually have my FB set up so that I receive a notification to my cell phone when I log in at a computer other than my own laptop.

Secondly, your post reminded me of this, hehe:

I see this all the time!  One friend changes the other friends’ status (and possibly “interested in”) and then all of a sudden, “OMGGGGGG I’ve been HACKED trolololol”, haha.  Obviously sometimes it’s legit but more often, it’s either carelessness, easy-to-guess passwords, or fun between friends when I hear the word “hacked”.

@sugarpea:  Never hacked. yeah, she definitely should have changed her password… I wouldn’t even consider that “hacked.” That’s just dumb.

No, but while looking at wedding dresses online I went to a website that was apparently shady and my email got hacked.  I clicked on a picture of a dress then went to the website that was selling the dress.  I think I had tried to save the picture and a warning came up on my screen about unsecure content or something so I left the site.  The next day there was a notification that my yahoo account had been accessed from a different IP address.  I checked my email and there were some undeliverable messages in my inbox.  I had not sent out any emails so there was nothing that should have been ‘undeliverable’.  My fiance got an email from my account at 4 a.m. that morning and when he opened it his computer screen began to flash and it said 7 viruses, trojan, spyware or some such thing.  He was at work so his the IT department fixed the problem.  All of my contacts were sent emails from me containing viruses.

I changed my email password and ran a full virus scan- which found a trojan.  I deleted the trojan and hopefully there is nothing else on my computer spying on me or keylogging.
