Interesting question. I'd say that I'm a really open minded person, so I'm willing to hear other people's views and see the flip side of the coin, but I've never changed my mind based on a debate or opinion I've seen here. If I see something that piques my interest I'll do a bit more research on it just to become more informed and educated on the topic, and then go from there.
I think it is interesting to hear other people's side of the issues, and I like a good debate. However, I don't think their opinions and perspectives have affected my own. I feel pretty set in my values/morals/opinions and the person I am. I can't imagine changing them, but I would change them if provided a very good and valid reason to. Most of my own beliefs have been pretty thought out beforehand and challenged prior in my life, therefore, I feel pretty solid about them. :-)
I think there have definitely been interesting points brought up in some debates, but nothing that has changed my opinion on it
Completely agree with bakerella! I'm totally open minded, and I am very conscious to not bash other peoples thoughts. I give my opinion (hopefully) without hurting others feelings. With that being said I don't change my opinions based on what others say, but I'm always open to new ideas/perspectives and think about it further.
I have had some interesting conversations on the bee. While I wouldn't say that I have done a 180 and changed my opinion, I will say that I have been able to see another person's perspective in a better way! That being said, I'm pretty confident in my opinions, so I can take part in a debate, and feel that I have a solid background in my reasoning.
I think it's great that so many people are interested in at least hearing other sides of a discussion, even if their mind is already made up. Generally, I have pretty strong beliefs, but there have definitely been times where points have been brought up that I hadn't considered before.
The things I feel strongly about I have researched thoroughly. I'm a bit obsessive like that.
I'm open minded, and will re-evaluate my opinions if new credible information surfaces (and I have changed my opinion on things before), but on the example topics listed I've already formed my opinions.
I voted "Other" because nothing I've encounted on WB has prompted me to re-evaluate or change my opinions.
I have had an opinion changed. For the most part I enjoy taking part in discussions here. We've had some great ones where it never got disrespectful or snarky! I couldn't imagine having the gay marriage debate on another forum...
I tend to be really determined to consider every angle of every decision I make, so I don't think anyone on weddingbee has really opened my eyes to something I'd never considered. I can't think of an instance where my opinion has changed (and my opinion on most of these big issues is pretty set), but it HAS been interesting to be exposed to people with different points of view than those I encounter in my daily life, and to debate / see people's reasonings. I really like getting to talk to people from a totally different background with totally different values systems. And whie it hasn't changed my point of view, it has helped soften how hard-headed I am about a few opinions.

There have been a lot of debates/discussions recently on WB. Do you think that WB has made you more aware of other's customs/beliefs? Has anything you have read on WB caused you to re-consider your beliefs/values? Basically, has reading other people's opinions caused you to reflect on your own opinions? Why or why not?
Examples of topics: food choices (vegetarian, vegan, etc), abortion, home-schooling, corporal punishment, political views, views of society (such as socioeconomic statuses), importance of family, religion, birth control etc. etc.
