GreenBayBee:  I LOVE this movie! I believe his story and am personally inspired by it. Was I already a believer in Jesus? Yes. So it didn’t make me believe, it was just really nice to watch. I cried like a baby during much of the movie. When my niece was 2 years old my step dad died suddenly. On the day after his death, we were outside and she stopped and started having a full conversation with him as if he were standing there – she turned to me and said “auntie he went to heaven” GAVE ME THE CHILLS!!!!!

Considering my neighbor’s kid has 11 imaginary friends, including siblings that don’t exist, a dragon, and a talking pineapple, this story does not make me believe that heaven exists.

Im not a very religeous person by far but I totally believe this can happen. Its more ridiculous to say it cant happen than to say it could. Most people will never allow themselves to believe in things like this but I for one am all about it. Ive had my own experiences with ”ghosts” and even an out of body experience once when I was drowning. There can never be proof for things like this but children are the most susceptible to things like this but adults are so quick to deny things like this can happen. If your child genuinely says they saw a ghost, they most likely did and shooting it down will only make them feel insecure and unsure about themselves and life.

This kid got to experince a miracle and frankly I think its terrible that anyone would try say he was lying.

After suffering from depression for over a year, i have come to the conclusion that the brain can do some wild and crazy things with a small chemical imbalance.

Therefore, i think he is lying. Probably not intentionally, he could very well believe these things.  But it could simply be he misheard some imformation and made everything up.

I don’t really think it matters either way if it was made up or real.

The world is full of pessimistic naysayers about everything, so if a child wants to tell a story the best way a child knows how, and that story inspires a bunch of jaded adults to step back and have a little child like faith (or restored faith in humanity, if not God) — then I say that is awesome.

There is no proof for heaven because it’s a belief — and that’s what this story shows.  The kid and his family obviously believe in it, so…that’s about all that matters.

I believe there is something bigger than us, I just haven’t made up my mind about what it is.  I’m very interested in all religions, but I haven’t come to a conclusion myself.  Anyway, I can’t wait to see this movie because my little sister has had moments such as the ones the boy claims to have and has said things that she wouldn’t have otherwise known unless hearing it from people who have passed so I 100% believe there is SOMETHING in our afterlife.  We’ll just never know, which is amazing and scary all at the same time.

Ryansgirl:  That could be evidence for the existence of ghosts, too.

GreenBayBee:  No no no. I didnt mean he was depressed. I simply was putting the correlation that the brain can do some crazy things.  It can change personality, cause hallucinations, cause involutary movements etc etc.   Meaning i attribute 99% of the crazy things that i hear happening to be some error in cognative function. If that makes sense.

Like people seeing aliens. No, maybe the light through the trees came through at such an angle that you misstook that log for a creature.

Swizzle:  OR, it was an alien.  How else do you explain implants and lost time?

peachacid:  lol is this thread now gonna be an alien talk? I believe people can lie to the point they truly believe it. Scientifically speaking its possible.
