I am a fan of making jewelry for my lady friends and family. Last year I made paper beads out of colorful magazine ads. Basically you cut a very skinny, long triangle and start rolling at the thick end. I rolled mine around a toothpick, and then sealed them with a mix of glue and water. I made bracelets out of those beads. This year I made felted beads out of wool and made necklaces. Ebay has cute and cheap jewelry findings.

Also, knitting scarves is a very quick and easy project if you use extra thick yarn, and all you need to know how to do is one simple stitch.

Have fun crafting!

I made those “tie-blankets” for everyone in MY immediate family plus my husband (6 blankets total, 2 2/3 yards in length, double knotted). But they aren’t cheap. Just homemade. I don’t know if you were also looking for cheap. 🙂

I’m making most, if not all of my Christmas gifts this year!

Here’s what I have so far:

– Make the ‘cookies in a jar’ mixes in mason jars – I snazzed them up with christmas ribbon and cute recipe tags.

– I learned how to make Bath Bombs, and I’m obsessed! here’s a great link: http://www.teachsoap.com/bombs.html

– I’ve made picture frames where you can hang your earrings! I’ve made one for my sister, one for my mom, and one for my FMIL. This is the link i found a ‘how to’ from (i didn’t make my lace, i just bought it at a fabric store: http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=FREE011

Here’s a picture of them:

Otherwise, since we’re moving, a lot of my family members get good hand-me-downs! (Xbox, TV shows on DVD, clothes, etc!)

I’m making FI homemade cufflinks…I think I’m just going to glue them on to the backing.  I have no idea how they’ll come out, but might as well try!  If they fail miserably, I’ll save the idea to buy them for him as a wedding gift

Otherwise, homemade cookies!  Love them!
