We do it every other week, but for some reason ours has turned blue over time (it was originally white) - we noticed after we washed it the first time, although we washed it with our towels, which are also white, and they were fine. Odd!
I don't have a set schedule, really. When I do a load of towels I always throw it in there with them.
I never have... but the thought of washing mine with our towels grosses me out! Then again, maybe the thought of never having washed the rugs should gross me out more. Haha.
Haha funny question because I spent a long time thinking about my bathroom rug today. I hate real bathroom rugs, I usually get random throw rugs instead. I always wash it alone and I usually replace it completely twice a year. They get so gross.

i'm terrible at laundry.. i didn't know you could!! its gross and matted! i end up throwing them away every 4 months or so instead. OK.. i will start to wash it every month then. thanks!
For someone who clean quite often, I very rarely wash our bathroom rugs, which is so weird now that I think about it because I hate how quickly they become flat and grimey looking. And it's so easy to wash them, just throw them in the washer and they're done!
I wash mine about once a month. We got these rugs from Target that are holding up amazingly well! They almost always look good! I wash them not because they look bad, but because I know there's all kinds of cat hair and crap in them and it grosses me out, lol. That reminds me, I need to wash them next weekend!
I am doing laundry everyweek including towels but I ALWAYS forget to wash the bathroom rug, so so far it has been washed once which was last week. I need to set up a schedule for myself to wash it every two weeks. We just have so much laundry that it is hard to remember.
I have to go with never wash them! The one and only time I tried to wash them, they started to fall apart! What the heck! But now that I think about it, EWW I need to either wash those suckers or buy new ones!! GROSS
I wash it about every two months or so. But that is mostly because I am crazy and make FI and myself dry our feet completely as we step out of shower so we don't step on it with wet feet. It makes it much less disgusting for longer.
We do not use a bathroom rug, it's more of a foot towel and I just throw it in the laundry with the towels everytime I wash them.
how funny! i just washed mine yesterday. i don't have a set schedule, just when they start to look or feel a little gross...:P
@Sewing me too!!! I love when it's clean. I wash mine about once a month, but it's only me in there taking a shower. And technically, I have two that I move around, so I guess once every two weeks really?
I have one from walmart that totally sucks though :( and the other from Target, it's ok but not a non-slip backed one, so it's no good for me!
I don't do it too often because I think the rubber backing breaks down if you wash them too much. Only when they start to seem dirty. We don't wear shoes around the house though to keep things cleaner.
@MissAsB: We got a rug similar to this to avoid the rubber backing ;)

I was them once every week or so but mostly because they are my cat's favorite place to vom. What is that about!?
Only once a month, but we should do it more often. Especially the one next to the toilet. Not that my hubby has bad aim, but there's always splashback and that totally grosses me out!
When we first moved into our house, our bathroom had carpeting...now THAT grossed me out even more! It was one of the first things we ripped up!

Hmm I wash mine every week. Actually every weekend I go through the apartment and wash pretty much everything. I'd rather have them break down a little faster and have to replace them sooner, than have them be dirty. Even towards the end of the week (like now) I look at it and think it's getting gross and it really needs to be washed. I had no idea that wasn't normal!
Every other week to once a month unless an accident or misfire happens. We use a tub mat on top of it when we are exiting the shower. The tub mat gets hung up after we are done.
Once a month....
I wish I did it more..ew :( I was the towels a lot tho :) haha

Just curious. Mine always looks so clean and fluffy after a wash. I love it! Otherwise, they are matted down and icky looking.
I try to do them every other week, but usually once a month or 3 weeks.
