I changed over in college and it was a life changer! lol. I still have the same one (going on 7 years) it works like I just took it out of the box.
I've been using Mac's for a decade and my husband constantly teases me. The joke was on him when his job replaced his old computer with a Macbook Pro, ha ha!
YAY! I LOVE mine. I got it 4 years ago, rarely turn it off (and when I do its only for an hour or two), and drag it around everywhere and it still runs like a champ! You'll love it!
I just did the switch myself, now I really believe once you go mac you never go back!
Welcome to the other side... (It's better over here!) I've been mac since '06 and love it!
Oh. My. Goodness. The difference is insane! Thank you so much for the warm welcome, ladies! Seriously, it's amazing. It's been less than 24 hours and I don't know that I'll ever be able to go back...
@Mrs. Guinness: Really, it's true.
@mmr66: Seriously, I'm so happy of that. No PC I've ever had has lasted >2 years.
@MissPumpkinPie: It truly is!
Congrats! I made the change to mac 6 years ago and have never looked backed. BTW I still have my desktop mac (the first one I owned) and it runs great. I also am currently using the macbook pro I bought ~4 years ago! I LOVE MACS!
I used to have a Macbook pro but it died after 3 years and now have a custom built pc- that my SO can fix whenever I have issues- plus ad ons are so much easier
but...
I miss all my extras :( and still haven't figured out Windows 7 completely.
Once you go Mac, you never go back. DH is a Mac developer so it's obvious where our loyalty lies. You won't be dissapointed in your purchase. They're the best computers on the market, whether PC users want to admit it or not. lol
Yay! I've had mine for three years (previously had a Dell also) and I love it too!
Before I got mine, I joked that there must be some sort of brainwashing video to make people so loyal to Macs. I couldn't contain myself when I saw the video saying "Welcome" in all those languages. I was like "I KNEW IT!" hahahah.
Hahahaha. Yeah, I too, joked with my friends who were both very loyal mac users. Now they're both very please that I finally transitioned myself. I still have to get to transferring all the important stuff over from the dell to the mac... Not looking forward to that...
I dont like change, so I know I will neverrrr get a MAC unless PC's become extinct. But I've used friends' macs and really liked them. They just seem so much more fancy :) congrats!
Once you go Mac you never go back. lol.
@colli459: I know how you feel I always thought Apple products were overpriced and overrated. It wasn't until the weekend before my third year of law school that my Dell crashed on me that I decided enough was enough. It took some adjustment, but now I will never buy another PC. I actually like the idea of no viruses. =)

And I love it!
Backstory: I have been a PC person since I started undergrad (7 years ago- I'm in my 3rd year of pharmacy school). I had been using a Dell laptop and it was crapping out on me like nobody's business. I couldn't get on the wireless at school, or if I could, I would have 1Mbps connectivity and could do NOTHING. Oh, and it would beep like crazy. For no reason. It didn't matter if it was on battery power or AC power, didn't matter what I was doing. :( This thing is super fast and it was only $200 to double the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB. Happy bee here!
