Definitely looks like lingerie to me... but hot lingerie! I just personally wouldn't let anyone but my FI see me if I wore something like that, so I think you might get some weird looks if you wore that in public.
It does look lingerie-ish...but I think if anything else if I saw someone wearing it in public I would think it was some kind of costume.
Yeah, that looks like lingerie to me too... but.. where'd you find it? I'd love to pick something like that up for hubby. haha.

I found it doing a google image search using the phrase "corset dress"... but its listed at "To Be A Pirate"'s website... lol I have no idea how safe/secure their site is though.
I would throw it on if we were having a crazy night in the privacy of our own home, but I don't think I'd be caught dead wearing that in public.
Lol I have this outfit and have worn it out clubbing in town albeit with a pirate hat and sword
DH saw it & said it would be a great dress for Valentines day, we're going to some restaurant but I'm not sure where yet. At least you Bees won't let me go out of the house in it!
Is it the pattern? Or the length? Or do you know of any other corset-type dresses that aren't hooker-ish?
You can be sexy and a little naughty without looking like you just wandered out of a Hot Topic. How about something this style?
@serabell: I think if you were able to get rid of the eyelets, black seams and lacing on the front, that would definitely help. And I think it ought to have a modesty panel in the back.
Right now it looks like a burlesque-ified flamenco costume. Great for fun at home, not so much for going to a restaurant.

With the extra layers and a modesty panel at the back it looks a lot more like a dress. I'd say it depends on where you are going.
@Miss Circe: I found that dress at a few other websites & it is listed as a club dress too :). I think with your hat & sword it would look pretty cool!
Do not like it at all. It looks like a pirate costume. Or something gothic looking...
I still really dislike it, it looks soo cheap and dare I say the bad word.....tacky! its not just the style (though that is the main part its also the fabric)
Also its not the length that makes it look like a hooker dress, short dresses can look very classy, its the style of the whole dress.
It looks like lingerie, or a can-can girl costume. And I think if more layers were added, it would just look more costume-y. Sorry!

It screams Hot Topic dual Halloween/sex costume. Black lace over red plus corset plus ruffles. If you want a sexy valentine's dress, consider ditching the ruffles. You can go as short, but ruffles like that stop after prom (unless it's Halloween slutwear... Which I think has an expiration date around age 30)

I came across this dress today searching for a corset dress. I found one I like but I'm afraid it looks lingerie-ish. I would plan on wearing it around town, on a date with DH, so if its lingerie-ish I do NOT want it! lol.
I'm thinking of getting it custom made by dressilyme to get extra layers... I'd want it to come to just past my knees I think.
