you could always just put them in regular little boxes and wrap them like you would a present.
I agree with putting them in small boxes, you could also put them in miniature christmas stockings with a candy cane attached or something like that and even write or have the person's name monogrammed onto the mini stocking.
For me it depends on the person. If I am mailing a gift card I like to just put it in a nice greeting card to save on shipping. If I am hand delivering I have done like Rosie-Girl and put them in a small box and wrapped them and I have also done the Chinese take out box and put ribbon on the top. When I am trying to be funny/clever I have also put one in a shoe box and wrapped it so they wouldn't be able to guess what it was.
They have so many cute little things out there that you could put them in. I know a while back, Starbucks had little socks and stockings they put their gift cards in. They were so cute! Places specializing in wrapping paper and packaging like The Container Store have tons of options!
Otherwise, just get a regular box and wrap them like any other gift :)
THey have cute little tins that are made for gift cards - I found some at the grocery store for pretty cheap!

...the time to buy and wrap gifts for the Holidays! So, of course... a few people on our list are getting gift cards because they are more practical and they can buy what they want or treat themselves to dinner, etc. The big question - how do you wrap gift cards? My FI of course put me in charge of this and wants something 'craft-tabulous' but I am not really a creative girl who does all the neat scrapbooky stuff. I can follow a plan, but can't really make up my own scrapbooky gift card wrapping concept. Any and all ideas are appreciated! I was considering the little plastic/paper chinese take out boxes with some tissue in them with a bow on top or something (these are for a couple of his co-workers/friends, his boss, his sister, etc).
Thanks!
