As some of you may know I am currently working two jobs while searching for a FT postion w/ benefits. One of the jobs I'm working is an office job in the marketing dept. I don't really have much interest or background in marketing (I have a master's in history), but my friend got me the job over the summer as a way to make some extra money while I was getting a SECOND master's. I'll try to keep this story as short as possible, but I have since decided to stop going to school (hated the program, waste of money, time, etc). I have not mentioned this to my boss yet. I have been considering asking them for a FT position. It's not my "field", but I'm comfortable here, everyone knows me and I would be completely happy working here... maybe not for the long haul, but a job is a job, and I've been part-time here since August. I don't however have any other relevant experience aside from the fact that I've been a part-timer for a few months. Is it too ballsy to ask for a FT position? What would YOU do? I could use some advice and no one here has ever steered me wrong!

I would bringit up to your boss, letting them know that you really enjoy the work you are doing and would like them to consider you if there are any full time opprotunitues. They might not jump on board now since you don't have the experience and haven't been there that long, but atleast they'll know you are interested.

I say go for it!  What's the worst they can say?  If they say no, you're not in any worse of a position than you are now.

    Good luck!
