I am fortunate enough to be able to go home everyday for lunch, because i live 4 blocks from work.  As I sit here, eating my ramen noodles I was wondering, do I even like these things, or do I just eat them because they are cheap and easy?  So, love them or hate them, what do you think of ramen noodles?

I think they are quite tasty but they are horrible for you from all of the excessive sodium so I try not to eat them very often.

I did eat them more when I was a poor college student though.

I would say... I love them, but rarely. I really enjoy them when I eat them now but I probably wouldn't if I ate them often. I'd say I have them maybe twice/year or so? chicken ramen + hot sauce = awesomesauce (literally)

BLECK. All my friends eat them by the case and I can't stand them! Mostly because I eat enough crap as it is, I don't need my days worth sodium in a little packet! I'm much more likely to boil up some pasta noodles or rice and it that than ramen.

Since this is my poll, I thought I would tell you that I voted for the 2nd choice.  I don't really even like them, but convience is winning in my house today (and about 2 times a month).  And for the sodium, using only half a packet really helps.

in college i ate the traditional ramen - I'd cook up real chicken and eat it with the chicken ramen so it was actually like... a real meal lol. in fall/winter i'll get the cup noodles and keep them in my desk at work for the occasion that i don't bring leftovers and don't want to buy anything at the cafeteria - that reminds me that i need to get some!

I eat just the noodles and leave off the included seasoning. Cuts back on the sodium and allows me to customize the flavor. :)

My ramen love comes in waves, and when the wave is in, I'll eat it for a few meals straight.

Yuck, so bad for you and makes me feel bloated.  In college, I ate Easy Mac instead.

It's just as easy and almost as fast to use some home made broth and add some noodles and veggies- and it tastes 10x as good and way better for you.

To me those packets are artificial food and taste  god awful.

I love them but try to stay away only because I know how bad they are for you. I ate them in high school and college and still love them, though!

I love them! Plus they are high in sodium which I am SUPPOSE to eat. That, salt & potassium where my potassium levels are so low, ect.

I used to love them but I don't eat them anymore. it's like eating a bag of potato chips and nothing else for lunch.

we have a bunch of noodle houses around here that serve authentic ramen. for whatever reason, I'm not keen on the flavor.

I love them! I drain the water and season them with Mrs. Dash and butter. Sometimes I buy the organic ramen noodles but they're expensive.

The instant Ramen noodle is ok, but husband and I love love the restaurant version of Ramen. There is a Ramen restaurant near us, and every time we go there the wait is at least half an hour; sometimes it can be an hour. Winter is a good time for some hot ramen noodle soup.

I rarely ate them when I was in college and now I never do. I think they are gross personally. I think I am sensative to food that is overly salty though.

@cutexkitty: I'm with you.  "Real" ramen done correctly is delicious--to make it at home, you have to boil some chicken (usually some drumsticks or a breast), shred it, and make the noodles in the broth.  You can add some of the seasoning packet, but I never put in more than half... it's just like chicken bouillon.

Add the meat back in, top it with sesame oil, chopped cilantro and scallions, a squeeze of fresh lime, and maybe some siracha sauce.  YUM.

I LOVE ramen. I grew up with real ramen and the occasional instant one on long plane rides (asian family).. it tastes like childhood to me!

Then, when I moved out and started partying, nothing got me over hangovers quicker than instant chicken ramen with rice and an egg cooked in it :D It looks like someone had eaten it before, but its sooo good and I can eat it easily, even when I feel sick.

I loved ramen so much when I was little. Now I'm into them because they're cheap. I ran across a website that had 100 recipes with ramen the other night and thought I'd pass it along to fellow lovers!

I LOVE ramen!  But not the Maruchan one, I love the Nong Shim ones.  And I usually throw some napa cabbage in there too just to feel like I'm being a little healthy with some veggies.

@Miss Longcoat: you're making me hungry!

Ramen has a lot of sodium, even the restaurant version. One of the restaurant I went to even have salt flavor. LoL. I prefer the miso flavor more.

I eat them every now and again, when I'm really too lazy to make anything else. I only use about a third of the seasoning packet, though. Or sometimes I make a quick peanutish sauce (peanut butter, soy sauce, hot sauce, a little brown sugar) and toss it with the cooked noodles.

Ate them in college, now I don't, since I can afford food with less sodium. They are tempting, though, sooo gooooood.

I have to be in the mood to eat them, which is not often. Yeah, they're cheap but I'd rather just cook a tv dinner if I'm pressed for time or lazy, since those taste alot better than ramen. I loved them as a kid though, but I can't stand them now.

@CorgiTales: I used to put hot sauce in the chicken ramen, too! It IS awesomesauce. To any of your who like chicken ramen- put them Red Hot in it- so freaking good.

These are one thing I do miss since going vegetarian. I liked them and would have them a couple times a month usually. Super cheap and easy.

I like Ramen, although really only the chicken flavour, but rarely eat them because they are so high in calories and sodium. I think the last time I ate them was on my flight to Japan as they were part of the plane food.

I love the, but I a picky. They need to be Ichiban brand. Also, they need to be cooked with green onions, and eggs, not over cooked, and served with fried prawns and srirachi sauce. Otherwise I won't eat them.
