I'm planning on doing something from Teavana. They have stores all accross the US and you can buy online. I was thinking a mug and some special tea with a gift card to the store... but then again, my mom is a Tea fanatic and collects unique teapots...
Last year I ordered flowers in really pretty pots that they could transfer once they got bigger and had them delivered. I think it was through 1800flowers.com...kinda expensive, you might be able to call a local flower shop but it was so worth it! They really loved and planted the flowers (gardenias and roses) after they outgrew the pot. Kinda cliche with flowers but they really loved them and they weren't just a standard bouquet, you know.
Do you live close? Could you treat them to dinner or lunch? Or you could get them a gift certificate or book them spa treaments, like a massage or something! I know my mama would LOVE that and my FMIL goes regularly and loves it. Manis/pedis at the spa are sooo nice, I'm sure theyd love that or taking them to get their hair done, like just styled. Mamas always love and deserve any type of pampering :)
It is Mother's Day and you said that any type of practical gift may not be used by the Mom, which is understandable, Moms usually give more than they receive out of love, but I think you should focus on a gift that is just for them, make it special. You can get them a separate homewarming present, too if you want but make this about the moms :)
We are having a Mother's Day BBQ at our new home in celebration of our moms, but definitely want to get them each some sort of gift too. I might do the spa thing for my FMIL just because she's not been feeling well lately and maybe a little spa trip would be just the pick me up she needs. As for my mom, I love the Lowe's gift card idea. She could use it to buy anything from a new door mat for their home, to flowers, etc. Good thoughts ladies! Thanks!! I figured I can't be the only FDIL (future daughter in law?) and daughter to need this help so :)

Hi All,
Ok, so as the title suggests this is NWR and is about Mother's Day gifts. I need one for my own step-mom and then also for my FMIL. To give a little background on them: My parents just bought a new house, and my FMIL is one of those people with a huge heart and would probably use her gift on my FFIL or her grandson given the chance (but I want her to use it on HER since it's Mother's Day). Not saying my mom doesn't have a huge heart because she does, but her most pertient update is thew new house. :)
... any ideas?
Thanks!
Bella
