Oh, there are a few excellent restaurants within a couple blocks of that area. What is your price point? You can’t go wrong with The Hamilton or Old Ebbit Grill, they have vegetarian choices and really just a wide variety of options.

Science club is also really good for vegetarians and has amazing drinks, but more of a hike (downtown area but on 19th street).

What are you seeing at the Warner Theater? I am seeing Jim Gaffigan this weekend and so excited to go to Warner Thearer, I haven’t been in over 5 years! Whatever the event is, you’ll have a blast I am sure!

@lovekiss:  I second Old Ebbit Grill!

Closer to the Gallery Place stop, there’s Rasika (if she likes Indian) or Oyamel (if she likes Spanish).  Both of those cuisines tend to be very veggie friendly!

The new Gordon Biersch might also be good option.  They have such a big menu.

if you want to venture out to Bethesda, Passage to India is so good!  as PP mentioned, Rasika is very good too.

@lovekiss:  Well she sounds boring! haha!  I lived in DC with my best friend/MOH for two years and she’s vegetarian.  We never had any problem finding something for her to eat at any restaurant!  We definitely never went out of the way to find one that was “veggie friendly” because it’s DC…they’re all pretty veggie friendly!

I would suggest any of the Ethiopian restaurants in DC but it sounds like she might be too picky! Recess Tapas might let her try a couple smaller dishes and Founding Farmers (Foggy Bottom) is really good!

@lovekiss:  Rastika is a little pricey, but great and tons of vegie options. There is also Matchbox and La Tasca which tend to be people pleasers and easier on the budget.

@lovekiss:  Yeah I hate changing trains I will walk extra just to avoid it! The times we’ve gone to the Warner theater we’ve actually just ended up at District Taco… We never seem to have enough time for a sit down dinner lol.

@lovekiss:  http://www.scienceclubdc.com/menu.html science club is definitely safe good food for any veggie out there. I also second oyamel, fantastic food. If all else fails, five guys makes a mighty fine veggie sandwich lol! :p

I am so excited for Gaffigan! What a thoughtful gift! Can’t wait to laugh my butt off.

Try Jaleo. It’s tapas so everyone can get lots of small dishes instead of one single entree.lots of veggie options. Or Zatayina which is Mediterranean small plates. both are about 7 blocks from the Warner. Now I miss dc!
