@msmonicka congrats! I can't wait till we start house hunting....hopefully after I find a teaching job we'll do that.
I'm certified in Elementary, student taught fourth grade, but I haven't had my own classroom yet....graduated last May. What about you? Do you teach in Madison? I'm looking all over the area for jobs now, hopefully will find something soon!
We've been apartment hunting! It's been really hard for us, though, because we're going from living in a 2 bed/2 bath apartment we share with another couple to finding a place of our own. Since we only have part-time jobs, it's been hard to find a nice apartment in our price range in our neighborhood. I hate Chicago rent prices! How is $1100/month for a 400 sq foot studio reasonable, I ask you?
@lilyfaith Yikes! Not reasonable at all! So glad I'm not living in Chicago. One of my best friends lives in Wrigleyville but is moving to Orlando and told me that her rent in FL is going to be soo much less than Chicago. I love the city (I'm from IL) but I couldn't handle those prices.

I'm so excited, I had to share with my fellow Madison/WI bees. FI and I went over the weekend to check out apartments and we think we found some, close to where we live now, which is nice since we love the area (our current apartment is so small!) It's got 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a bigger kitchen, a washer and dryer in apartment (which we don't have now) and is much newer than our current place, all for only like $100 more a month than we're paying now!
Sadly, our lease isn't up until August, so I have to wait all summer to actually move in, but I'm so excited! This will be our first place that we've picked out together...he had this place a year before I moved in since I was still in school in Michigan.
Anyone else aparmtent hunting lately?
