I know it’s a little early but so many people are talking about Christmas I thought I’d ask about NYE.
I have no idea what to do this year for New Years and I know I need to start looking into this now so we can plan and budget. It’s my DH’s birthday too so I wanted to do something really fun. We were planning to go away for a weekend before Christmas but I think going away for New Years and celebrating my DH’s birthday would be even better.
Does anyone know of anything going on for NYE this year yet on the east coast? Or anything that happens every year in these areas?
Were trying to keep it semi local…
- Harrisburg, PA
- Philadelphia, PA
- New York City
- Baltimore, MD
- Ocean City, MD
- Atlantic City, NJ
Even if your not in this area what are you doing?

Our group of friends was originally planning to go to Las Vegas for NYE.
However one friend hates crowds and several people told us they were bummed because that meant that we weren’t all going to throw a huge NYE party (were known for collectively throwing parties at one friends house).
So we caved and now were hiring a DJ and throwing a huge bash at that one friends house.

Fiance and I will be celebrating NYE and our engagement anniversary at Teatro Zinzanni. I think they have one in Seattle and one in SF…not sure about the east coast.

I’m not sure what Mr. D and I are doing for NYE this year. We will probably head to Des Moines, Iowa and spend it with friends. We also talked about maybe going down the Nashville and spending it there with some friends. It’s still kinda up in the air!

I’ll be in England with my SO. We’re not sure what we’ll do. I’ve never done much of anything for NYE, so I am excited to finally have someone to enjoy it with. I’d like to go into London, though I do not know what we will be up to specifically. I need to research!

My Darling Husband and I usually spend every NYE in Yosemite National Park. We love how quiet and cold it is there. Always a very relaxing weekend. Sadly this year I do t think we are going to be able to go. 🙁

We always stay home with a fire and a big dinner. We are not much into partying with the masses, we much prefer the small local pubs but even they are crazy for those holidays. I like spending the time alone with him winding down after the holidays.

@tksjewelry: nothing wrong with that. After having a hard year financially we have learned how fun staying home can be too. He just got a raise in time for the holidays so were just thrilled and ready for a night out again. lol

Well I’m in Korea… and I will probably still be teaching winter camps, so most likely going downtown to a foreigner bar for a few hours is about as adventurous as I’m gonna get…

my mother and I (and maybe my husband) will be running a race in central park at midnight. not really something you can do any other night of the year so it should be fun.
