sorry ladies - just a vent!

Today we got our 2nd noise violation from our apartment complex!  We live on the 3rd and top floor and apparently have been so noisy that our downstairs neighbors have filed official complaints twice!  This last one is riduclous.  They said we were loud with TV/music & wrestling/stomping noises late night/early morning.  They implied that we were having sex too loud!  The only thing I admit to is playing our tv too loud between 8 - 10pm.  We were in bed by 10:30/11pm all 3 days in question this past weekend.  I am so upset!

I have no clue what they're talking about and don't think our only cat could be running around that loudly when we are sleeping!  We definetly we not having sex those days! no way.  I want to complain to the office but I want to stay in good graces with them since we love this complex.

Not to mention THEY leave their trash out every day violating policy - which we've gotten in trouble for!  They leave their dog poop bags out that we have to walk by daily. um nasty.

soooo anoyned at the situation and will have to be so cautios now walking around our apartment playing the tv and a really low volume so we don't get in trouble a 3rd time!

do you think we should complain about their wrong doings as well?

Don't you have some sort of dispute process?

Send the landlord a letter documenting your version of the happenings on the days involved, assure them that you want to be good neighbours and promise to be considerate of others in the future.

Do not bring up the things that the neighbour does wrong-it won't help.

    2 wrongs don't make a right.

I would counter-file with your complaints.  The office should know that these people are not exactly ideal tennants.  Plus maybe sending a little heat their way will stop the violations.

I would file official complaints as necessary - but not unless those things are actually bothering you.  Document your memory of those dates and include it in the file on hand at the office - if it comes down to an eviction situation, you'll be glad you put your thoughts on paper.  They have to consider both sides.
