The last few times I have eaten onions/cooked onions it has gotten increasingly painful. I didn’t realize until tonight where almost 4 hours after eating my eyes are still watering and I am itchy with a bit of a stomach issue. Mostly, though, it is my eyes. It is strange, I start to get pretty awful feeling when they are cooking and the onion is releasing around the kitchen. Getting though the initial cutting is not too much of a problem. I also could not finish my dinner.
Anyone have this issue? I have another onion, so I may test that.

@WaitingDogMama: Hi! I would say yes you sound like your body can’t handle onions. Avoid them and avoid cooking with them. Chances are it will be worse with every time you eat it. I am extremely allergic to many things, to the point of ending in the ER and needing to carry an Epipen. I am reallyfed up with my allergies and hives so I am starting a low histamine diet for a few weeks and see how I feel and if my hives from temperature changes and… WATER go away.
Are you allergic to other things?

@Sporty-Bee – Hey! So sorry to hear you are having these kinds of problems too. I tend to have a lot of environmental allergies, am allergic to blue cheeses (maybe because I am allergic to penicilin?), and am lactose intolerant (not an allergy). I have no idea why this showed up – I do have a diet low in the more common allergy foods. This just seemed random.
I hope you feel better over the next few weeks – some of the paleo recipes may also have ideas for you (not sure what more substitutions would need to be made but they would probably give you a good base)

@WaitingDogMama: I know it’s a pretty rare allergy, but I ran into it a few times while I was a waitress! It’s definitely a real allergy!
