The drug store near my home recently discontinued selling the razors I've used for several years, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth going across town to get them every time I need them, or if I should switch brands.

I shave everything, and have had trouble finding a razor that I like for what I call my "brazillian shave". The nice, multi-blade razors are great for my legs, but are too bulky for the more delicate region.

What razor do you use if you shave it all off? Do you use the same razor for legs, armpits, etc., or keep separate razors?

Sorry if this question is TMI ... I'd love a good recommendation though!

I'd also like some suggestions - I've always waxed but I'm pinching pennies at the moment :(  Is it worth trying home waxing or can anyone recommend a great shaving routine to prevent insta-stubble and razor burn?

I use a gillette mach 3 and have for years. I use it for both my legs and underbits. I like men's razors so much more than ladies: they are smaller, get a closer shave and seem to last a lot longer. Hope this helps.

I use one razor for everything, however I do normally get my vajayjay waxed b/c I'm prone to razor bumps and ingrown hairs. However I have used my razor down there while in a pinch and it works great it's the Schick Hydro 5 blade (mens razor) I LOVE it, works better than any ladies razor I've used! http://www.amazon.com/Schick-Hydro-5-Blade-Razor/dp/B003BVINQI

I'm an anomaly I guess.  Natural.  There's a biological reason for it and that's how I justify it.  Mostly, I just don't like how it feels to be hairless.

that's what I use if I wax down there, it's kind of tricky to get used to but it works a lot better on coarse hair than most waxes.

I use the Mach 3, too! I like it for everything--armpits, legs, etc.

I also use an electric trimmer and scissors before I shave, though. That seems to cut down on irritation.

ETA: I don't shave everything, but I do like the hair to be low, neat & groomed.

I agree, men's razors work the best. I tried waxing myself a few months ago and it was a disaster LOL and the creams dont last anytime at all. I want to get laser hair removal when I can afford it!! AFTER the wedding boo :(

I use the same razor for everything--a Gillette Venus Divine. I used to use both the Venus, and a cheapy disposable razor for closer areas, but I ran out of the cheapies a while ago, and just never bought them again.

I think I'm going to look into a men's razor, however, after reading some of these answers!

Mach 3 club! Use it for everything.

I started using a Mach 3 when I was on a 8 week trip to Israel and ran out of women's disposable razors. I used a male friend's Mach 3 (he gave me my own blade) and I will NEVER go back to using women's razors again!

I'm also in the men's razor club!! I use the Gillette Fusion (the one that vibrates). Will never go back to women's razors again. It's 5 blades but isn't bulky at all.

Wow, talk about consensus! I'll look into the Mach 3. Someone asked about stubble and razor burn - I shave every other day, so it never has time to get bad for me. Plus it's much quicker because it doesn't get long + is habit in the shower.

Do you guys use shave cream/gel? Or just water? Or something else?

I like the Gillette Venus  Embrace. I use the cartridges interchangably. The Embrace is a bit bulky but I like that it has the moisturizing strips and has 5 blades.

To be honest, I just use whatever I have or whatever is on special. I actually got a bunch of man razors last sumer for free and have been using those.

I have a Schick Hydro 5 and use the same one for everything, but I do change the blades frequently. I like to use Oil of Olay bar soap--it produces a really nice lather, and I've found that shaving cream tends to be too thick for my liking. Women's razors are absolutely godawful, imo.

    @daydreamwanderer:

. I recommend using a shave gel that is for sensative skin. I use men's shave gel along with a men's razor and I don't get razor burn or bumps or anything and I have no hair below my head...

Also in the Mach 3 club. I used to use shaving cream, but honestly, I've found that my shampoo (Pantene) works just as well, and it's nice not to have yet another bottle to contend with in the shower. Bodywash or bar soap can work, too--just make sure it's the kind with luxurious, silky suds ("moisturizing" types work best).
