Is it bad that I'm sadder about John Hughes than Michael Jackson.....I grew up on all these movies. Ferris Bueller and Pretty in Pink were always my favorites.

I love them all, but I was a bit too young to get the full Molly Ringwald effect when it was brand new. I vote Home Alone!

For me, it's a tie between Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and Uncle Buck.  Those two movies crack me up without fail every time, even after all of these years.

I am so bummed! I love Ferris Bueller with a passion. It's in my top 5 movies of all time.

I do not like this at all. The director and Mr. BW share the same name. It's very scary to have some one text you during the day to say that "Jon Hughes" has died. I only momentarily freaked out.  Alas, my favorites  are Ferris Bueller, Curly Sue (so cute!) and 101 Dalmations (he wrote it).

Wow, I've been out all day and hadn't heard. So sad, Home Alone was one of my favorites, it was the 1st movie I saw on a date with my high-school love....sigh....

he made so many amazing movies... waking up this morning I kept thinking about Sixteen Candles and how much I loved that movie when I was younger... my best friend's older sister even named her first son Jake Ryan!

Home Alone is my favorite!  My family and I watch it every year on Christmas Eve and we say quotes from the movie all the time.  (My personal favorite, "What am I supposed to do?  Shake his hand and say 'congratulations, you're an idiot'?")

    I also love Sixteen Candles!

There are so many childhood memories tied up in his films for me!

Pretty in Pink is my favorite!!!! Followed closely by Ferris Buellers Day Off and The Breeakfast Club! I love the music in Pretty in Pink...
