You’re in Nevada, is it warm enough to open the windows? Btw, what did you cook last night that smells that bad?
Try lighting some scented candles, too.

@FutureMuniz: I used to live in Henderson too. I didn’t know about these oil lamps until I moved to Florida. They’re great for removing stinky smells. Is there any place out there now that has them?

What’s the smell? I would put down some carpet powder and vacuum if you have carpets. The fibers can really hold onto smells.

Well ladies its is a mix or beer & bbq sause but the after effect! lol It smelt good when cooking, tasted good, after smell = stinks!!!!!!!! lol
I could open the windows but there is not breeze 🙁 so it would just be opening of windows right now. lol
As for the oil lamps we probably do! but its only 602 am lol no store is open lol even my wal mart opens at 8am lol wtf!? right!
I wish i had carpet cause that would be the next solution but we only have wood & tile flooring 🙁 lol

Yeah, like PP’s said
-light a candle
-take out all of the garbage from every room
My condo is really open concept, on the days that I make fish, it smells VILE in there until I do all of the above.

Sprinkle the couches/chairs/other fabric surfaces with baking soda, let it absorb the odors and then vacuum it up?

Simmer a pan of lemon juice or vinegar and water & open your windows and if there is no breeze, place a fan next to the window to suck the air in.

@Cariad: If i had a fan! lol :(( We don’t have any lol but i never heard of the pan thing, ooooo i will try! :)) Thankie!

YAY!! House smells clean! :)) Thank you bees you all gave me some really good ideas for “the next” time our house decides to go into a funk! :))

Yay! Glad you fixed it. I was also going to suggest simmering rosemary and water in a pot on the stove.
I can’t stand when my house smells like spicy food the next morning. However, a bacon smell is always welcome, lol. 😉

Glad you got rid of the smell! My mom cooks fish (salmon) in coconut milk (not the oil, but the milk!) and there is literally NO fish smell in the house! So if anyone likes fish but not the after smell try this trick!

@happyface: My father does the same thing!! That when i eat fish the hubby is allergic to sea food lol otheriwse this is how i would cook it too! :))
Pay attention to that one ladies 🙂
