Do you agree or disagree with their decision? I don't see how her dress is any different from what figure skaters wear and that isn't "inappropriate" for kids to watch.

Her boobs are popping out a bit IMO, haha. I understand why it was pulled, but I feel like they should've thought of that before filming and put her in something more kid appropriate.

Hmm i can see why people are upset for the simple fact that not many kids that age are going to notice the flesh coloured part of the dress...but i think its pretty innocent...

Holler at your girl Justeen. Hit the nail on the head. I blame Sesame Street entirely! Did you also read they're doing a parody of True Blood this season too?!   It really makes me wonder who's the brain behind the creative department over there.

I agree that it's something that they should have caught beforehand, and personally I think doing a re-shoot would have been a better option than to just pull it.

I agree that they should have thought about it before filming and that her boobs are popping out quite a bit.

But I don't think it's different than what kids see on other channels anyway. And they are not sexualized, imo, I don't think it's inappropriate. Is it? inappropriate for a child to see his/ her mom's boobs?

That whole thing is kind of weird to me. Also, I nanny a two year old and an almost four year old and I doubt either of 'em would even notice the boobage. But I'm not a parent-- so what do the parents on here think?

[I only watched a little of the video, so I didn't see the bottom of her outfit (if it's super short or whatever).]

I just don't think she is a good guest to have on sesame street. she's a wanna be controversial pop tart married to the most disgusting joke on the planet. I think taylor swift is more their speed.

@nskillet: I think maybe they're trying to make the show a little more adult friendly so parents won't mind watching it with their kids? They have a lot of famous artists on there, so that's the impression I get.

We don't watch Sesame Street, but my 4 year old loves Katy Perry. She doesn't know the controversial stuff, she just like to sing her songs and see what color her hair is (the first time she saw Katy her hair was blue the next time it was purple, both are colors she loves).

I think SS should have put some thought into it before they taped. My daughter has seen her in other things though and thinks Katy is just silly, almost cartoonish, so I wouldn't have been bothered.

I guess I understand that argument? But what ever happened to Maria?? Isn't Maria good enough?

They should've approved her outfit a while back and made sure it was a little more concealing (if that's what they wanted).  She's so quirky and dingy, a perfect match for the air-head puppets, lol.  I'm not offended by her cleavage, but if Sesame Street thinks the majority of their viewers would mind, they should've taken care of this wardrobe decision prior to the show's airing.  Too bad, I think it would've made a cute episode.

@reinab505: Now that you mention it, she is totally "cartoonish." I never noticed that before! Weird...

I loved Maria.  ANd when Carol Channing was on-she was a good guest. Is anyone old enough to remember Mr. Hooper? lol! Or when everyone thought Mr. Snufaluppogus ( yeah...I'm not looking that one up) was just an imaginary friend of Big Bird. ahhh-memories.

I used to LOVE sesame street! (I grew up in the 80s!) I watched it up to middle school - mostly because my family lived overseas and there was only one channel in English, haha :) But once they tried to up the graphics, it went downhill. I used to love the songs... I remember one about a girl and her llama hahah.

Bahahaha, that's too funny. I think what she was wearing was cute!. I don't see how any child or parent could skew something as innocent (imo) as her outfit. I was just watching the clip with my 3 year old son, and he loved it!. Just seeing Elmo and hearing singing got him to run out of his room to dance! :)

We just watched it 5 freaking times. She said "that is too funny. Why is Elmo playing tag with Katy?" lol She was singing and dancing the whole time.
