So, I kept getting these random e-mails from people I never heard of before. they were sending me family photos, chain e-mails and most recently a birthday e-card. I constantly told them I did not know them and to leave me alone. Finally today I sent a somewhat rude e-mail telling this one lady to leave me alone and she replied back that the e-card was from her and wasn’t it cute and blah blah blah. I replied back to her in CAPS, bold, uber large font and underlining that it was not my birthday, I did not know her and told her to leave me alone. about 1/2 hour later she says she figured out the problem. apparently her sisters name is the same as my last and first name (spelled the same even which is way rare) and her e-mail is the same as mine except hers has her middle initial in it. so I replied back to her that I was glad it was all figured out finally and asked her to tell the other lady to stop e-mailing me (I guess that other lady is her sister in law). Moral of the story- make sure you have the correct e-mail addresses for people so you don’t annoy them!!! lol

Hahah! That is really funny! Plus they probably had you in their address books and they just kept using the same bad email address!

Wow so frustrating! I’m shocked they didn’t get the hint the first few dozen times you told them they had the wrong email!

That’s so random! I wonder whether they’ll figure it out or just keep doing it accidentally even though they know what’s going on now…
It just seems like one of those things people aren’t as careful about as they should be. Yikes!

Do not even respond to emails from people you do not know. Simply delete them or add them to your blocked list.
Many cases will just be phishing for your email address to bombard you with more email once you answer and confirm that they have the correct email.
Sometimes our efforts to be”nice” come back to haunt us. You don’t have any obligation to advise anyone that they have sent an email to the wrong address.

@BunnyBrideToBe: They better not keep doing it, i will be so ticked!!
@julies1949: The one lady e-mailed me from a noaa.gov e-mail address. I have added them to my “blocked” list but this last one was a new one. I was not trying to be “nice”, I just wanted them to leave me alone! lol
