Ohh man, I totally feel your pain! Townhouse parking is the worst ever. We own our spots (they're part of our property), but guests of our neighbors are always parking in them! It drives me NUTS.
The next time you pull up and can't fit in your spot, I would get out of the car, knock on his door and politely ask that he move his car over so you can squeeze in. He may not realize that he's blocking you... and maybe he'll pay more attention in the future. Hope it works out!

I live in a townhouse complex and along my street are 3 townhouses with extremely limited parking lot that the entire complex shares. My immediate next door neighbor is disabled and does not drive. The other neighbor is THE WORST PARKER EVER.
Needless to say, he's a nice guy. I've never held a full conversation with him but he always says hello and has been very courteous. He has three kids and they are all polite as well.
But every single day he takes up two spots with his car. He either parks on the line or over it into the next spot. One day he parked so closely I had to climb in through my passenger door! I mean...this is every.single.day.
So I'm getting really angry about it. Sometimes I have to park far away because i can't fit in the open spot because of him. I don't want to write a note because it's going to be very obvious who wrote it considering our other neighbor doesn't drive.
How do I politely approach someone and tell them that they are parking like an idiot? Especially when he's a nice guy. I don't want to be rude about it but I'm getting really peeved!
