This is the stupidest question ever, but whatever. I got a fancy dancy new blender. I have no idea what combos of things would be good into smoothies. All I’ve done right now is like put in yogurt, ice and one fruit, but I’d like to get creative. Any combos of things that would make good smoothies?
Also, can i put pop into it? Like to make a slushie?

@cirk: have you tried googling smoothie recipes? I know I’ve tried many I’ve found online. It always helps to read the reviews to see what people though about them. And of course you can put coke in it!
when I make a smoothie I like protein power, peanut butter and almond or regular milk. Thats more a protein shake but its PERFECT after a workout!

Yeah I googled around, but I’m really stupid when it comes to combining things, and we’re kind of broke, so I don’t want to go out and buy like a kiwi and a mango and then it be awful and be stuck with them. Which now that I’ve typed out sounds completely stupid, but whatever.
Any personal favourites?

for fruit smoothies. I just throw whatever in to whatever consistency I prefer. I toss in 1 banana, strawberries, berries, apple juice, vanilla yogurt…maybe a little milk and voile…a yummy and healthy smoothie. You just have to play around a little to feel more confident and you will get the hang of it.

I usually do strawberries, frozen raspberries, plain or vanilla yogurt, a bit of milk, and some flax or a pro-biotic. I also like to do frozen strawberries and a bit of apple sauce to make a sorbet type of late night snack 😉 Also: bananas + milk + cinnamon + vanilla = yummy (:

Freeze some (peeled) bananas and chop and blend them up. It comes out in a really frosty, creamy consistency like ice cream!

I know this is an oldish thread, but nonetheless:
The one I make:
2 Cups Spinach
1 Frozen, Peeled Banana
1 Cup Milk (almond, cows, whatever)
3/4 Cup Frozen Low-Fat Yogurt
Then I add in whatever healthiness I have kicking around.. usually some ground flax.
The spinach makes it a green, nasty-looking color of smoothie but trust me you only taste the banana but get all the health benefits! There are a lot of variations on it though:

i want to get a blender to buy those Jamba Juice packets i see in the freezer section at target…
When i had a blender i used to make strawberry banana smoothies or i would put coffee and a packet of hot chocolate with ice
