There is either La Senza or Ann Summers. Ann Summers is more erotic, La Senza is more likely to sell you PJs. But personally, I'd buy that stuff from Primark/Peacocks/H&M/Dorothy Perkins.
I went to La Senza for the first time the other day to scout out bigger bras since I'm outgrowing mine (damn pregnant boobies) and they had some cute stuff! It reminded me of VS.
Bravissimo, if you're over a D cup, plus they do great nighties with support built in. Debenhams for cheaper bras. La Senza sometimes when they have offers. I'm not a fan of Ann Summers (their lingerie isn't very good quality).
For sexy stuff I order Mimi Holliday (although my FI managed to shred a pair of my silk chiffon MH knickers yesterday in the wash). They shouldn't have been in the washing machine in the first place!
It's worth going and getting fitted again to make sure you're wearing the right size. The worst fitting I ever had was in Victoria's Secret!
Marks and Spencers for the comfy stuff, Bravissimo for the nice stuff, I really struggle to get stuff to fit me due to my tiny back *grumbles* La Senza are quite nice but they never fit me :(
@SpecialSundae - darn you for giving me a new addiction... this Mimi Holliday lingerie is GORGEOUS! loving it. seriously :)
@inspiredcreationsbyhaley: YAY! A convert!
Sexy Panties and Naughty Knickers (actually a brand) also make hot lingerie.
Ooo thanks all! I'll have to check these out.
@SpecialSundae: Thanks for the tip about Bravissimo! My ladies are getting quite large because of pregnancy and I have no idea what size I am anymore. (I'm wearing a 34DD from Victoria's Secret currently, but I think it's too small.) I'm going to go in to the store in Cambridge this week and have them fit me properly.
Bravissimo for larger cup sizes, La Senza are probably my favourite for cute stuff and M&S.
@VickyAurea: Argh ETAM! lol I remember- when Etam was around I was young so when my mum dragged me in there I'd go straight upstairs to their childrens/ teenager section- called Tammy Girl- ahh Tammy Girl- memories!
@FutureMrsMaher: I forgot about Tammy Girl, I used to think that place was so cool!
@FutureMrsMaher: Yeah, I loved Tammy too, except for underwear it was Etam. I didn't even look at the clothes in there except the bras and french knickers. Cos yeah, I was a young 'un.
@zippylef: When my friend was pregnant, I know she used to shop at Mothercare for bras. Can't verify if they're any good though as I haven't been preggers myself.
Ah Etam and Tammy Girl, that brings back memories of flares!!! EEK.
Underwear front: I buy M&S for comfort and La Senza for something more special, and they make my boobs look good. IMO Ann Summers is just a bad sex shop and I think the quality of their products is really low and overpriced.
There used to a really nice independent place near me, but it closed :(
I love VS and usually stock up when I go home to visit family. I have heard rumors that VS will be oping in London sometime soon.
I believe that La Senza is about the same as VS. If I am looking for something fancy I usually go to Selfridges. They carry a lot of lines and also have an Agent Provocateur store in their lingerie department.
Other department stores to try would be Marks and Spencers, Debenhams, House of Fraiser, or Harvey Nichols (or Harrods if you feel the need, but I hate shoping there as it is always so crowded).
For sleepwear try the above or the Gap (I like their lounge wear).
I was never a VS fan, but have always been a Frederick's of Hollywood fan, I still get it imported sometimes >.> But Ann Summers has become my "replacement" Frederick's!
I wanted to say that I went to La Senza last week to get sized and SCREW THEM. The girls were SO rude, they refused to measure me and the bras were all way tiny and uncomfortable. They had no kind of conversion chart for international sizing either... When I worked for VS, they made us learn the conversions to UK and EU sizing. I walked away empty-handed. Maybe next time I'm in Norwich I'll go to that one, but I will never go to the one I went to in Cambridge again.
*sigh* I think I'm just going to wait until I fly home to the states for Christmas and buy some bras then.
Aw I'm sorry you had a bad experience at La Senza, I like I there as I find they are pretty consistent with sizes. However I usually get my everyday underwear from there not special occasion. For that I prefer Debenhams, which has own label stuff, but also carries brands such as wonderbra.
@zippylef: I thought US and UK sizing charts were pretty similar other than the DDD thing? La Senza have been pretty rude to me at times for asking about size equivalencies (their whole baby-doll sizing thing makes no sense) but I still buy an occasional set there.
I go to Debenhams for everyday stuff quite a lot.

I just moved from the states to London and am re-learning where it is you buy everything.
I used to just order from Victoria's Secret's online website when I wanted new lingerie/sleepwear.
Is there an equivalent here in the UK?
Where do you buy your lingerie and sleepwear?
