that would piss me off too. Understandably so, I believe.  Always having someone assume that you’re the driver.  I would always be that person cuz I used to never be able to say no.

And sucks that their convos were all about kids, I would have tried to change the topic at the beginning and then if no one cared then I’d just become a mute lol.

No idea about car seats tho I wonder if they actually are a bitch to take out??

Next year dont drive!!!! ;P

Ryansgirl:  Yeah, that’s a bummer for sure. Some people just aren’t very considerate! I used to work with a group of women that ALL they talked about was their kids. And we’re even talking grown kids. It’s like they were reliving their glory days of raising toddlers. “Oh so and so used to pick her nose and stick it to the wall. Isn’t that a hoot?” They, no lie, relived their birthing experiences with me. Um.. 1) TMI, 2) I didn’t ask, 3) I DON’T CARE, 4) I don’t have kids, leave me alone! It’s like the poor things had no other identity other than motherhood.

Ryansgirl:  Oh I feel the same way. I LIKE kids, I even liked their kids (the ones I met). It’s just that yeah, there are other things in the world to talk about! Aaaiiieee! I don’t miss that one.bit.

What would they have done if you couldn’t drive? I’m sure they would have figured out those car seats pretty damn quick. I hope at the very least they are offering to give you gas money.

That would bother me too. You figured out how to get the car seat in the car, how difficult could it possibly be to get it back out? I think they just didn’t want to drive and were using that as an excuse.

If you decide to go again next year, I personally wouldn’t put up with it. Either someone else shares in the driving or you don’t go, you aren’t a chauffeur.

Odd. I have a couple different car seats and they’re all extra easy to take out. Like 10 minutes tops. I would have been peeved as all get out for that to have been an excuse!

Ryansgirl:  I have a child and I would just manage to somehow get the base out of my car.  Not that hard . What makes it hard is installing it back in correctly, which anyone of their husbands can do.  My husband installed both of ours and can easily take both of them out.  Very rude and presumptuous.  Do you have to go?  you could always say something came up?  And you can’t go as planned?

That thing about the car seats is bull! I don’t have any kids, but I’ve taken enough car seats out if cars to know that it is not that difficult. They were just being lazy and taking advantage of you!
