Title sums it up! What are different ways you enjoy certain foods that others think are weird or “gross”?
– I LOVE ranch dressing on mashed potatoes. It’s delicious and pretty much the only way I eat mashed potatoes. (My sister puts mustard on her mashed potatoes.)
-I bite into every sandwhich except a peanut butter sandwich. I tear it to eat it.
-I drench my vanilla ice cream in chocolate syrup…like a lot.
-DH, when eating a burger and fries, eats the fries first every time and then the burger. *Not too weird, just a cute hang up of his.
What are yours?

Ranch dressing on potatoes sounds really good. I’m going to have to try that.
Whenever I eat waffles, I have to pour so much syrup on it that every single hole in the waffle has syrup in it. I thought that I was really weird and excessive until I learned that my FI does the exact same thing.

bleusteel: Do it. It’s a delicious combo. It’s weird. I love a lot of syrup on waffles but not on pancakes.

I have to have an actual bottle of ketchup next to me when I eat a grilled cheese because no matter how much ketchup I put on my plate, it will run out long before I’m finished. A grilled cheese sandwich is basically just a ketchup spoon. Also, this is the ONLY time I eat ketchup.
My husband eats Big Macs one layer at a time. This is weird and it makes me angry so we can’t get McDonalds anymore.

iarebridezilla: Ketchup suggestion for your grilled cheese sandwhiches- Fancy ketchup that’s from Whataburger (they sell it now!). It’s the best ketchup ever and while I love their burgers and fries, they are merely devices to down as much Whataburger ketchup as possible.
Oh…and lol about your DH and Big Macs.

How fun! I’ll play.
- I really like dipping my oranges in a little salt and pepper. It sounds strange, but it really brings out the sweetness of the orange! It’s not too different than eating chili spiced mangoes (which I also love).
- I don’t think it’s that weird since it’s traditional in Belgium, but I love dipping my fries in mayo or aioli.
- A cold sandwich isn’t as enjoyable to me if I don’t have chips (a Vietnamese banh mi is the exception).
I think that’s about it for me and FI doesn’t really have any weird ways to eat food. My MOH can’t stand having her food touch for certain dishes though. For example if she had a plate with chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and corn, they cannot touch each other. I believe she would also eat it in a particular order, but I can’t remember.

I open my burritos & eat the insides, then fold up the tortilla & eat it 😉 ..every time, no matter where we go (Taco Shop, Chipotle, home, etc)!

Also, when corn on the cob is on the menu, my Dad has to eat it before anything else goes on his plate. It cannot be on the plate with the rest of his dinner — it has to be completely eaten and disposed of before the rest of dinner can commence. Corn on the cob is basically his appetizer. He will sit at the table by himself eating corn while the rest of the family is still filling their plates. What a weirdo.

I eat burgers and fries like that too. Actually, anything with fries I eat the fries first. They get cold and gross quickly, the sandwich stays hot longer!
I also dip my fries in mayo (or garlic aoli! YUM!)
If I’m not a fan of something but I can’t leave it on the plate I eat it first. I save the things I love for last.
When I’m done with pasta (they always give you too much in a restaurant) I pick through it and eat all the meat. 😛

Given the chance, I will put anything I’m eating in a tortilla. My husband does not understand and jokes that I would eat a “turd in a tortilla”. hahaha!

– I like to finish all the types of food on my plate at the same time. It’s a subconscious thing, but my FI doesn’t understand how I do it and thinks it must take so much effort. He’ll eat all of one thing, then the next, etc.
– I put chips in my sandwich. So good. I think it’s becoming more popular now, as I saw it on a commercial a few months ago.
– I love to put peanut butter on my oreos
– BBQ sauce on french fries ( I hate ketchup!)
– I like to put mac and cheese and baked beans on my hot dogs, like they’re condiments; I swear it’s delicious!

I do the fries thing first too- best for last 😛
I mix all my sides together like a salad of sorts
When I’d eat a burger that has two meat patties I separate them so I have two separate buns with meat then eat the one without cheese first. Again saving the best for last plus extending the life of my burger :P. Also works for mc muffins and what have you.
Which reminds me if something has too much bread or tortilla I pick it off so there’s only just enough bread/ tortilla.
Also when I have tortillas I can never just put food in it, I have to tear it into pieces and then use the small pieces to grab food.

These are so interesting!
I thought of another…when I was young we lived where there was a Luby’s (LOVED IT). I would always get the pot roast, mac n’ cheese, and mashed potatoes. I will still get this when I can at places. I have to eat everything at the same time. I will get mac n’ cheese, some mashed potatoes (ranched up of course) and then the roast all in one bite. It’s delightful.
Oh…and if eating chocolate ice cream I will stir it until it gets very smooth and soft (my dad puts milk in his ice cream to make it softer). Best way to eat it.

Oh, also when I eat breakfast I love getting a pancake and filling it with eggs, syrup, and bacon- nom!

Oh god I’m so embarrassed to write this! Here goes nothing…
I eat my fries first, like PPs. But I eat them two at a time. And the two that I eat need to be the same length (not exactly but just by looking), and I’ll eat from the smallest to the biggest. Same thing with crisps (potato chips). Two at a time, roughly the same size. If I eat food like M&Ms for example, I’ll eat two at a time of the same colour. If I have left over colours/odd numbers I’ll give them to FI.
I don’t like tomato on it’s own. Same with mushrooms. I’ll eat them mixed in with something, but not like on a cooked breakfast etc. Anyway, ifI have a burger and they accidentally put tomato in it, I have to change the burger. If I simply take the tomato away I can still taste the juice if it. Eurgh.
I can’t think if anything else right now… Oh wow I sound absolutely bonkers
